Despite not having received our booking reservation through Booking.com, the owner was very accommodating and ensured we were looked after from the start. It's not the Ritz but it was very clean, warm, comfortable and very very good value for money.
heavy quilt, lots of hangers, bath gels, tvs in both rooms, slow cooker option, plenty of crockery, shower pressure, ready to use ice, cleaning products.homely. The best part for us was having electrical facilities (toaster/kettle/fridge/microwave/TV).
No bin in bathroom, hob heated the draining board area to a extremely high temperature that I burnt my hand, just one pan (which was very rusty), contacting the mobile number more than five times and no pick up, no TV signal on any channel found only to discover there is a switch on the other side of the room for this. Radiator temperature a bit too low. The biggest issue for us was the 2 ring hob which took too long to cook the food.
Great location. Clean. Well laid-out. Very comfortable. Recommend to couples or family. Looking for an opportunity to visit again.
Parking a little tricky. Attached to a care home. TV mounted high on wall. No mobile signal.
The apartment was roomy and well-kept in a quiet area.Televisions in 2 rooms was a nice touch. A generous shower for the morning and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils so getting food was very easy. The owner was friendly and helpful when I had a query. I'd certainly love to come back next time we are staying in the area.
Mobile phone coverage in the immediate area is limited to vodafone, which made getting access on the first night more difficult as we use EE (although the staff at the adjoining care home were very helpful).
Hmmm! On arrival , at the Old Peoples Home (!) , I was eventually informed that I had to go to another apartment half a mile back up the hill , which proved difficult to find . I liked the seclusion , but could have benefitted from proper direction . The other apartment was clean , spacious , well furnished . An relaxing evening in , quiet and comfortable , watching the huge tv . Then we went to bed . All was quiet and peaceful , til about 2am , when the slats collapsed on the faux double bed ! My girlfriend hurt her back and I hurt my knee !! So we spent the rest of the night in the twin room !!
The bed !!
Warm Comfortable bed Reasonable, well equipped kitchenette Good location Good value
Such a shame that this accommodation is completely let down by a lack of care and management. On arrival (not before the earliest time stated) the flat had not been 'serviced' from the last people using it. There were used sheets and towels, bin full of rubbish, washing up not completed. This meant me going into the Care Home where they were unable to locate or speak to the 'manager' Jason and so they sent someone to clean it. I then found that neither of the tv's were working and despite trying to phone the manager (no mobile signal) and e-mailing him and being assured in the Care Home that someone would come and sort it out in the morning, nothing was done about it and no contact was made. On my second night, a member of staff from the Care Home came to say that someone else had turned up there saying they had a booking for the place I'd already booked! Sadly, you cannot expect to run a guest let and not, seemingly, care what happens to the people whose money you've been pleased to take! The only points of contact left to guests were in the Care Home where the staff have more than enough to cope with with the job they are doing and cannot be expected to get involved in the running of the flats which is stated as being Jason's responsibility. What a pity!
Near the beach.
Was nothing like the pictures shown, needs to be clear which apartment is which. Ours had a old horrible kitchen (not the one shown in photos). Once we found the apartment the t.v didn't work we reported it to the owner who send a rude reply saying we should go for a drink and not watch t.v. Of course no one gose away to watch t.v and we went out two of our 3 nights but you do want a t.v to chill out and watch when you have been out all day! Epecially in the winter! Don't provide a t.v if you don't want people to watch it! Would t recommend and wouldn't stay again! The t.v was never fixed and no one got back to us.
most every thing, accept state of room on arrival.
on arrival the room had not been cleaned, dirty towels, soaking wet towel by shower, dirty crockery. bed not maid! this is after not arriving untill 3.30pm,,we had to go out for 1 hour to have it cleaned, this put us behind and had to rush to get to Swansea to see the show, surely some one can check this? I ave given good rating, as it was immaculate on our return.A nice night out was rather spoilt by this experience, Mr J Flounders
Very very close to a lovely beach. Wifi service was excellent and handy as the mobile signal was non existent. Had everything you needed to have a short break away.
The pictures on the booking website looked lovely but I was mislead by the views I would be getting with the place. The flat was underneath a carehome and very noisy in the morning and evening. We could hear the movement of people above us.
disappointing tagged on the end of a care home. small, dark and dingy. at the top of a steep hill so not able to walk to the beach. only one lightbulb in lounge. settee uncomfortable, all in all was lacking in basic comforts.
Location, value for money,Easy arrival and departure.would recommend and use again.
The situation, the facilities, the cleanliness, the bed, the settee, the shower . . .It is a lovely flat and represented good value for money or would have if the man responsible had responded to complaints.
The man responsible leaves a mobile number to contact him but only between the hours of 2-4.00pm. There is no phone signal in the flat so it is not necessarily convenient to phone between these times. The televisions and internet do not work so we leave a message expecting he will come. He does not respond at all. On the second morning there is no hot water. We leave disgruntled feeling abandoned. We judge service by how it responds to complaints and all responsibility is abrogated here. No human contact all. Perhaps because we only stay for two nights, he does not consider it worth his while to respond. A tea towel would be nice too. A shame because it is potentially lovely accommodation but we have nothing but a negative view.
Not to far from beach and places to visit.
No mat in shower it was very dangerous . No mat by front door to wipe feet.
This is a great little retreat for anyone wanting to take a nice easy quick cheap value for money holiday. Me and my partner were very satisfied. We slept well and the location of our stay was just perfect for us. Very close to the beach. close to shops with wonderful views. We would definitely stay again. The apartment is nicely layed out and is out the way of any noise or traffic. The Apartment was very clean and tidy with a very cosy bed. I would recommend this place to any couple old or young for a value for money getaway.
For about an hour early in the morning you can hear people/cleaners cleaning the apartment directly above, but this is only a problem if you are a very light sleeper. It was no more annoying than birds singing outside.
This apartment is one of two in a care home. The advert is deceptive: nowhere does it mention this, and we assumed it was part of a hotel, from the description and photographs. Some of the photos, eg of the terrace overlooking the gardens and sea, were actually taken from the residents' terrace and dining room. The rooms were small, functional, the flooring lino. We had no hot water for the first 24hours; Jason initially told us this was because we were too late taking our showers, after the residents (at 9am!). When the problem persisted we contacted him again and on the second day he finally sorted and solved the problem. Then, we were woken at 6am each morning by loud bangs and crashes from the floor above us - staff getting up? Bedpans being emptied? We were initially told that no-one else had mentioned this problem. This was more than being economical with the truth. The worst review we discovered was for March 2014 when the same apartment was previously called 'The Pad'. Did this review occasion a change in name? When we complained to Jason about the various issues, he told us this was a budget apartment and basically, what did we expect?
The picture gives a very false image of the accomodation. The building is a home for elderly folk rather than the charming hotel this picture suggests
We actually stayed at Langland Heights apartment which is very spacious. Jason takes great care to ensure that one's stay is perfect. Very well equipped apartment and quiet location. Handy for shops.
Langland is a lovely place and the flat is very close
Lots of noise from the people upstairs. Not their fault - just bad noise insulation! The kitchen was lacking in utensils - pots and pans The bedroom tv was wall mounted but could not be viewed properly from the bed! Constant damp smell in the bathroom.....
Jason the manager was very helpful and was on hand when we needed him. The property was clean and tidy.
There wish no hanging space for clothes. Very noisy from patients upstairs, through the entire night and was woken up every morning to thumping, moving and noisy moans from elderly people residing in above accommodation.
Convenient for beach;a 300yd walk down a very steep road.
Small, cramped, tiny shower, very noisy person upstairs late at night and early in morning stomping around and moving furniture. No contact with staff so cannot rate.
Reasonable location for the beach. Parking was easy.
Small bedroom. Was not at the front of the building as I assumed by the picture shown on the website however located at the rear of a residential home. No sunlight and quite cold. Very noisy early in the morning, from the room above which we assumed was part of the care home.
Apartment was clean, prepared for our visit with all needed things. Location is within 10 mins walk from the beautiful beach and great place to eat.
It was smaller than expected, just enough for 4 to spend the night.
Location. Views were amazing. Use of the lovely garden was a real bonus. Property was very clean and tidy on arrival.
Some noise from staff above flat. This was particularly intrusive in the early morning. The property was linked to a Care home and hence the noise from staff movement.
Nice and peacefull and nice beaches nearby.
Steep hill on way back from Langland bay.I would have liked to have been informed.I have mobility problems.I felt the advert was misleading.
Location amazing so close to beach and lovely cliff side walks as well to Mumbles.
