I liked the fact that we were able to check in to the hotel @ around 12.50 after we were told we would have to wait till 2pm when we arived at 11.45am,we also liked the friendly night porter who served us on the bar in the late evening we did not like the fact that the directions were inadequate ie the post code sent us to a location it was then 30 minutes after ringing twice for directions until we arrived,or or the fact that the receptionist twice told us upon arrival that first she was too busy to check about our taxi that was supposedly previously booked and that she was too busy to get us a drink after we had.we actually waited for an hour to get served after I asked again despite the fact that she stood talking to another girl for the first 20 minutes. We did not like being awaken by the heating coming on at 5 am making the room so hot I had to open the windows so never returned to sleep as road noise could then be heard, we were told in the morning when checking out it was because the night porter gets cold doing nothing at that time so his comfort is obviously more important than the guests, and finally we did not like the breakfast buffet which was Luke warm eggs, mushrooms, beans etc bacon so dried I could not pierce it with a fork all served on cold plates.

An all round very good experience. From the first, being made to feel very welcome by the receptionist who was warm and friendly. The room was warm, clean, tidy and instantly made you feel at home. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay there again. Good location also with family/friends in Thatcham and m4 a hop away for our trip to Heathrow airport.

Neither the tv or Radio worked. The matress was well past its sell buy date, the toilet brush was dirty. You had to walk around under the shower to get wet and the light was powered by poltergeist. The furnishings were trendy in the late 1960'S. Quite simply the worst £70 I have ever spent. They even made Premiere Inns look like good value. If the staff knew, they couldn't care.If they didn't know, they were not in the least bit proud to be working there.

The beds were terrible. Two single mattresses with a sheet on top. The hotel tried to charge me 50% extra for an early check in for no reason.

Size of the room, poor facilities, loud wedding reception as soon as we arrived, tiny bathroom, no bath, no soap in soap dispenser, uncomfortable bedding, dated look, unclean feel, musty smell etc etc.

The receptionist/waitress was very warm and friendly. I found the restaurant very expensive for the quality of the food served. We were the only diners in at that time but the food was either overcooked or dry from reheating. The chef redeemed himself with a nice full english breakfast the next morning. The room was very basic for the price paid and fixtures and fittings in the bathroom were dated and tarnished. It was clean though. The remote control for the tv did not work either. Wouldn't stay there again.

Booking in at reception was friendly welcoming lady serving breakfast very nice - nothing to much for her Hotel its self needs a 'makeover' decor style was all over the place ? room small - bed passed its sell by date - decor very mismatched - noise from road directly in front of the hotel - windows not double glazed - train passes every so offen - smell of damp upstairs on way to rooms - breakfast over cooked and dried out - last thing... When booking out (different receptionist) money was taken and that was that... But most hotels ask is everything was ok ? not a word... Oh well you pay for what you get ? - will not be returning

Nothing except it was close to my required business location The hotel had an awful smell around it -it was massively overpriced for the type of room, I cold hear other guests in their room, the room was tiny, and shabby, the food was limited in choice and poor in content and taste, the staff although helpful seemd short on numbers. I almost made the decision to drive home rather than stay there. This hotel is one of the most depressing chain hotels i have ever had the misfortune to be booked into and would never stay there again and would rather make the journey home or sleep in my car

Very obliging, check in closes at 11pm, we didnt arrive until 12.30am but after a phone call to you was reasured not to worry and someone was on reception when we arrived. Would have loved to have stayed long enough to enjoy breakfast but we had to leave at 7.30am. Room very clean and tidy on our arrival. The beds were not very comfortable (could feel the springs in mattress) but wasnt in them for very long. There wasnt enough milk in our room to enable us to make a drink in the morning, Arriving very late after a 41/2 hour journey we used the milk in our drinks, when I went to try and find some at 6.30am there was nobody around

Near to Aldermaston,my daughter's wedding venue. Loved the cooked breakfast - hot to the table. Not enough staff - I ranf the bell at reception and a member of staff appeared from the kitchen carrying a cooked breakfast and told us she wouldn't keep us long. Nobody was clearing away the tables and I had to clear a place for my daughter and her friend to eat (not the staffs' fault - I only saw two and one was cooking the breakfasts).

The rooms were basic not like the ones in photographs but served our purpose as we were only there for one night. The breakfast was really good but the tables were not cleared away due to the shortage of staff (I only saw two and one of these was covering the front desk. Staff were friendly and polite.

Clean/freindly ~ overall good value for money. Room 10 ~ mattress needs replacing. Felt like sleeping in a dip comparable to the Grand Canyon. Breakfast sausage was like trying to chew a hose pipe ~ skin far far too thick.

“The staff were so helpful. Whilst they missed the comment that I was travelling with my 2 daughters and needed an extra bed in the room on my booking, when we arrived the staff did everything to accommodate us. We ended up staying in a suite with a room for my daughters and a room for me, overlooking the lake - very comfortable and the views in the morning were stunning. Thanks for a lovely stay. ” Ian, Plymouth |
