Breakfast facilities - very poor - no allowances made! Room Cramped No light outside when coming in at night
The welcome Facilities Breakfast
Rooms were hot and beds quite hard
All staff (especially Ted) were very warm & welcoming, always friendly & very helpful. Rooms were very comfortable, peaceful, complete modern furnishing & SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. Well prepared breakfast with ample options. Good location right next to the bus stop & the bus route goes to most tourist locations in the city centre & only takes around 10 minutes. Convenient & safe parking if you have a car.
Disappointed we couldn't have stayed longer.
Disappointed as no restaurant operating when stayed and we were not advised. Staff knocking on my bedroom door to ask if I was attending breakfast at 0830 hrs.
Lovley hosts, comfortable room, easy bus access into town, delicious cooked breakfast & a much needed laundry facility
Good facility; good full breakfast included. Good location on bus routes.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed. Wi-fi was intermittent.
big bed was geat, shower had great pressure & lots of hot water. Right on the bus route to town
Restaurant was closed - choose here specifically so we would not have to go out at night. Not a fan of buffet breakfast - always cold if you are not there when breakfast starts.
On arrival made very welcome .
A bit disappointment as was going to eat in restaurant but wasn't told that it wasn't open at the moment , only found that out when phoned from Edinburgh city to book a table as was out shopping . Very thin walls heard the room next door full telephones conversation and them snoring all night .
Dot and Ted were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The room was comfortable, clean and very nice. Breakfast was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely stay there again and recommend to others 10/10 :)
* The room was lovely and the bathroom was new and clean. * The parking was at the back of the building which gave extra protection * The owners were really friendly and welcoming * Breakfast was simple but tasty
* It was a little further out of town than first thought
Staff were very friendly, helpful, and provided great information about the area. Ted, the owner, really went the extra mile to ensure we had a great stay. Everything about the place was A1. I would highly recommend it.
Excellent facilities and wonderful breakfast. Staff very attentive. Room was luxurious.
My own fault but couldn't get Wi Fi to work. I'm sure if I had asked it would have been sorted.
Room excellent, bed comfortable, breakfast good.
Road noise very intrusive, windows triple glazed but room too warm to close them. Being asked if we would pay cash.
Good sized room and en suite with dressing gowns and slippers. Bus stop outside into Edinburgh so you could leave the car.
Problems with the wifi and the restaurant not open.
This is a very friendly hotel situated on the outskirts if the city. There is a bus stop just outside with buses every half hour. The owners are a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome and I would definitely use again.
liked everything about it.. was so clean and tidy.. staff made u feel welcome and made sure u had everything u needed. would definatly go back totally 10 out of 10 for my stay at this hotel. breakfast was fab too.
The way you are left alone to your own devises once you have a nice friendly warm welcome, but always felt you could still get what you needed
Breakfast finished to early, as I get up for work everyday when I go on holiday I like to laying a bit later than normal, and breakfast was last served at 08:30 way to early for people who want to relax in the morning
The breakfast is freshly prepared and there is plenty of choice. The restaurant opens on five evenings for dinner, the food was excellent and very good value for money. I would stay again if visiting Edinburgh.
Room and bathroom fine
No restaurant as chef I'll. no bar. No reception area. Met by owner asI parked car. Just wanted to give me key so he could disappear. Paid £125 for what was a pretty depressing B&B. No chance of going back again.
My mum and I stayed here for a long weekend after my graduation. Aaron Lodge really did deliver. Ted and Dot were amazing! Breakfast (buffet) was yum although it was a bit too early [depends what time you like to have brekkie]. Customer service was brilliant! Overall, I'll recommend them to everyone as it made our first trip to Edinburgh one to remember.
Ted and Dot and Ted's 'mum' couldn't be nicer. We were super impressed that they went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable and convenient. The bus stop is right next to the B&B so that was very handy. On the last day of our stay we had most of the day to spend in the city. Ted offered to have a cab come get our luggage from the B&B and bring it into town to pick us up, so we didn't require extra time coming and going. What a great service! The cab arrived just as promised with luggage in tow. They gave us a friendly greeting each morning for breakfast and made us feel right at home.
Our room was in the front of the B&B and we like to keep our windows open so the traffic can be a bit noisy, but we had a sleep machine with white noise that we turn on, so we could sleep just fine. It wouldn't be that way in the winter, we're sure, as the windows would be closed.
The proprietors were exceptionally welcoming and pleasant. The accommodation was fine, although we stayed not at the hotel itself, but in some good-quality accommodation nearer to city. Both sites were on a good 'bus route to the city centre (25 mins or so) and the Wi-Fi worked faultlessly. Breakfasts were plentiful and served in a light and airy conservatory attached to the main building.
At first the news that we were to be accommodated not in the hotel described on the website, but in other accommodation some distance away was rather worrying. But it was understandable that rooms at the main hotel were all full during a very busy period. In the event the quality of the rooms we stayed in was fine and the proprietor did everything possible to ensure we were not inconvenienced.
Breakfast was nice and the room was modern and clean
