Being near abbey and facilities could do with furniture being varnished or painted but over all would stay again good breakfast and choice
great food great welcome
Lovely room, 4 poster bed, very quiet(room 4), enormous breakfast, great nearby location to stay at if you are attending a function at the powder mills and at a fraction of the cost
No car park but roadside parking available
Comfotable bed, good breakfast.
Room very tired, in need of redecoration and upgrade, as was the bathroom.
Friendly staff, good food, ideally situated, comfortable room.
Nothing in particular. It suited our needs very well.
Fairly decent value for money with breakfast included.
The fire alarm which went off at 6 a.m. for 10 seconds - clearly from kitchen preparing breakfast. The lack of shower in our room and less than proper customer service at breakfast and on check in.
Poor selection of beer and very expensive.
A good night's sleep & an excellent breakfast
The location opposite the abbey
The staff were delightful, very welcoming and helpful. It was a perfect base for my short break
The clock radio didn't work - but that didn't detract from my enjoyment
The staff were very friendly a helpful. Breakfast was really good. The room was nice.
The only problem that i found was that the pillows in the room were a bit hard.
Friendly Staff Location Tea and Coffee making in room Excellent breakfast Quiet and Comfortable room
Location, good breakfast
Room fairly small, would benefit from some kind of car park arrangement!
Excellent and helpful staff.
A bit noisy in the front.
Good location and relaxed atmosphere
Bit down at heel
It is located in the high street
There was nothing specific that I didn't like
A beautiful summer day. They had a great terrace. We had break ie squashed up next to the only other couple there. Sat in the bar. So rushed. Our room was over the kitchen. Fish on the menu. I don't go away a lot anymore this was a real treat. very disappointed.
Both bar staff and housekeeping were brilliant we were very well looked after for meals which were excellent.
Room 5 was an upgraded room but it certainly wasnt in the last 10 years simply putting wallpaper on a wall to make a feature doesnt convey how tired and dated the bathroom and furnishings are this is a 40 quid room. Shepherd neame you should be protecting your business spend some money!
The staff were very friendly and the food was very good.
The room was in need of updating, the bed was very uncomfortable, carpet was well worn and the bathroom had seen better days. The walls in the bathroom had mould on them and the switch for the light was temperamental - worked sometimes not others - which made me concerned about the electrics. Don't think we will stay here again unless it has been refurbished.
The staff were extremely obliging and polite. The breakfast was very good. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The sheets were lovely and soft white cotton.
The only annoyance was the traffic noise, we had a front of high st room. The good side of front of house was the lovely view of the Abbey. I don't think anyone could complain as the price of the room was very reasonable
Breakfast was very good! Very helpful staff that let us drop our bags off prior to our check in time! Thank you!
Offered free wifi but no wifi code anywhere to be found and staff didnt know either.
Great location right near the Abbey in the quaint town of Battle. Simple accommodations but everything you need. DELICIOUS English Breakfast!!!!
Lack of parking, but free parking was located in the gravel lot by the flower shop on the high street.
The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Has a lovely family feel.
Good family room with TV and coffee / tea provided, room was clean with good sized bathroom. Nice location on high street but quieter garden and river round the back. Good base for exploring local countryside and area. We enjoyed the breakfast on offer and excellent evening meal / beer. Friendly welcome and will definitely consider returning.
Parking can be a squeeze if hotel is full, but we managed to get a space ...
