about a fifteen minute walk into town ok in summer but not so great end of nov
staff great , welcome great, room great, food good,
shower was rubbish lack of water pressure
Pleasant accommodation, near to the town.
- Friendly service - Cleanliness - 2 comfy chairs in the room
- Bedside shelf flimsy - Shower not much more than a trickle - WiFi connection failed often
The guest house was located really close to the city centre, just a £4 taxi ride. Rate included cooked breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pleasant stay.
The rooms are full of a lot of furniture and dated bed covers/curtains. Parking is a bit tight if you have a large car or if other guests park badly.
Location, friendliness of staff and comfortable room.
A little bit noisy.
Friendly staff, nice breakfast, good bathroom, good location on the edge of town, handy pub opposite!
Bed a bit hard, shower was hard work - no water pressure.
Good night's sleep and relaxed atmosphere. Good to have tea and biscuits in room. Nice sized room and good supply of quality towels.
Slightly lumpy mattress, tv very basic, breakfast was too late for us as we had to check out by 7.30 so had to go without. Would prefer individual shampoo/shower gel rather than partly used bottles
comfortable room, there was free parking at the rear of hotel, friendly staff, it was only about 10 to 15 mins walk to town.
only dissapointment was the breakfast was a bit bland.
A very friendly welcome awaits at this cosy hotel, with a good full English breakfast in the morning. There are also 'continental' and veggie options, in fact they are very flexible so you could just have beans or scrambled egg on toast (for example) if you fancy it. A few minutes walk from the English Bridge, the hotel is not far from Shrewsbury Abbey with its adjacent restuarants and bars, and close to the famous half-timbered Dun Cow pub. Regular buses stop right outside.
Only BBC1 was watchable on the TV at the time of our stay, but this did not matter to us and has probably been fixed. Not a strong shower, but more than adequate for the job!
I lived in such a so called hotel for one night, the take some excuse to get 50GBP pulisment from my credit card without my permit, I even don't know what happened. I kindly told everybody don't live in such a so called hotel.
excellent cooked breakfast
The bed in Room 6 was very uncomfortable and creeked. The man in room next to Room 9 could be heard moving around and coughing throughout the night and his TV woke me up at 4:00 a.m. Breakfast was luke warm and sausages undercooked (pink). Poor night's sleep.
Location walking distance to town Accommodating staff Breakfast very nice
Good, freshly cooked breakfast. Very good location, near to city centre but with car parking and relatively quiet. Friendly staff.
Minor things only eg stairs light not working and having to turn TV off at socket to stop switch flickering.
Staff help when we arrived. Excellent referral for evening meal location. Closeness to Shrewsbury Abbey site and historic township.
WiFi not working. On site parking inconvenient.
Staff Food Location Quiet room Cleanliness
Spotty WiFi even at 0200 in the morning.
The owners were very helpful, and gave us a clothes aired to dry our washing. The room was adequate but smallish.
Wifi only worked in the dining room, not in our bedroom.
Friendly staff, great breakfast, great location just a short walk into Shrewsbury town centre and within a short walk to restaurants.
The beds were a little hard and the doors and staircase were squeaky.
Breakfast OK. Staff OK. Really nothing to write home about.
Room in need of updating the decor.
Two comfortable chairs in the room. Excellent location for the Abbey and eating out. Walkable distance into the city.
Poor shower, at least it was upstairs (not a power shower).
Great location, lovely staff
Check out and breakfast could be a little later particularly on a Sunday. Breakfast till 9.30/10 rather and finishing at 9am and check out at 11 rather that 10.15. A little more choice for breakfast would be nice too, say poached eggs on toast/baked beans with breakfast rather than tomatoes etc
Right on the inner perimeter of the city, so handy for all that Shrewsbury has to offer. Good road links to other tourist magnets like Bridgnorth. Excellent breakfast and beautifully appointed room.
The lady who served us breakfast was very pleasant and the breakfast was very satisfactory.
When we arrived we were told that our family room that we booked was for single occupancy and we had two adults and two children. The owner told us that she would charge 95.00 instead of 55 which we had booked for. Understanding it was an error she brought the price down to 75. However we could have gotten a big hotel room for that price and she was rude. We said we were going to find somewhere else to stay but she said she was going to charge us either way and therefore we had no choice to stay there. Would not recommend staying there. We did not feel very welcome and felt very uncomfortable.
