Perfect position for paddington station. Very clean. Tube very close. Excellent value for Central london. Staff very pleasant.
Price in relation to room size
close to station/tube, the bedroom was compact but clean
I read a lot of negative reviews of Abbey Court Hotel and now I'm glad I ignored them. A beautiful hotel in a great location just few mins walk to Paddington Station. The staff were very friendly and helpful, I always felt welcome when I was in the lobby. It's a busy hotel with a constant buzz of guests checking in and out. The housekeeping is excellent, our room was cleaned each day we were there and to a high standard, I work in a similar area of work so I can see when corners have been cut so I was very impressed at the standard in the hotel. We stayed on a room only basis but it didn't matter because there are tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms so a nice cuppa was all I needed in the morning! I have stayed in hotels in London for a similar price to this hotel that were well below the standard I expected so I and am very happy with the value for money I got. I had read reviews about the 15 minute free Wifi and then you pay after that but I was away for a break from the news at home etc so it didn't bother me at all, anyway there's free open Wifi on Oxford St, Regent St, Leicester Square and shops if you really can't live without it for a few days! I'm hoping to return to London in a few months and I'll definitely be returning to Abbey Court Hotel, I spoke with another guest who is a travel agent so if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me. Some people expect 5 star treatment for a lower star price.I will be recommending this hotel to family and friends. Thanks to the staff for making my long overdue break such an enjoyable one. Sharon.
I would like to have stayed longer!
Fab place central to all the places we needed to be . Lot's of places to eat and drink in walking distance. Will definitely come back x;)
Loved it all
It was only a cohple of minutes from Paddington which made access to everything via underground very easy.
The room was unbelievably small and as a couple we often struggled to maneuver around one another.
very clean, bed comfy. would stay again.
room very cold told heating was not turned on untill 6 and off at 8 ,had a problem with ladybirds flying around.
Location to transport links
Staff very vague, basement room was just like a basement dark (not all lights to room working) noise from extractors, lift breaking down, noise from maintenance men and staff in laundry etc. No room to bend over wash hand basin to wash, no storage space and lack of signage for directions to room and reception. Needs urgent refurbishment.
They assigned me a room (Room 3) in the basement, which was near the heating/kitchen, so the room was boiling and very noisy. I couldn't turn on the AC because it didn't exist, and I could't open the window either because the kitchen's chimney was near and oil smell would fill the room. Also, my phone rang 3 times from customers that dialed 0 and got me instead of Reception
Small room but everything was adequate... Taxi service to the airport was prompt and overall service of hotel staff was great. Very close to paddington station and about 10mins walk to oxford street.
No free wifi
The foyer was gorgeous with chandeliers and the look of the outside of the building was beautiful and very clean. The room & en suite were extremely clean. It was within walking distance of Paddington Station which was perfect for our nights out in town.
The room was small and a little cramped to move around in. The en suite was very small - the shower was TINY (you could barely turn around in it). There weren't any signs on the side of the building as you walk past it.
Hotel looks nice on the outside and reception area.
Room was very compact and bathroom was even smaller.glad we was only staying one night.
Features of the room were ok and it was clean, bed lining was fresh both days, and all staff where friendly and helpful
Standard of the bathroom could have been greater, im not a particularly tall person but having to duck to get under the shower head to get a full shower is rediculous, the toilet was also loose. shame the room was a little cramped in both the bathroom and bedroom but for the price i paid its not that bad
Extremely bad smell in bathroom, which itself was too small Rooms were also extremely small.. we had a triple room and could barely move while packing
Location, block away from PADDINGTON station Service Room, although small very functional Very safe Near everything
Perfect location for exploring London. Great price (off-season). Clean. Good beds. Helpful, friendly and chatty staff. We booked the wrong room type (separate beds) but this was promptly resolved at arrival. Comfort could certainly be better but I'd return based on price and location. Maybe less suitable if you're a bit older and need a bit more comfort.
- I'm about 6 feet. Sink in bathroom was super, super low and had push buttons for water at both sides, couldn't even wash my face at the sink if I had been able to reach it. - Shower head height was fixed so I had to shower in a weird position. - View out the window was a brick wall. - Hotel is starting to show age.
Walking distance to Oxford St and Paddington Station
Room was dated and tiny. Clearly some rooms are better than others, with thosecheapest being the bottom of the pile (although the photos shown are those of other rooms) We wouldn't stay there again, simply because for 40 pounds more we can get a better room which would make our holiday more enjoyable.
The location was good.
The bedroom was tiny and I have never seen such a small shower room. We had to dry ourselves in the bedroom as the shower room was too small. The stairs getting to the room were very hazardous, if one had small children or had been drinking then it could be very dangerous. I am surprised the council ever passed planning on the rooms and corridors.
Staff were very helpful and were always able to answer our questions. The location suited us well with Paddington Station and Hyde Park 2 minutes walk away. The rooms are small, but as we were busy each day and only slept there this did not affect us. A good number of reasonably priced eateries nearby. The Brazillian restaurant attached to the hotel is definitely worth a visit!
No access to the Internet without paying extra was a nuisance at times. I have paid lower room rates in other European hotels and had free wifi included with the room rate.
The location was excellent, the room was tidy and spacy. We especially appreciated the continental socket in the room!
The room was a bit too warm, but there were no noise even when we had to sleep with the window open.
Lovely clean Hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.
Trying to find my room was a maze.
We loved the location close to Paddington and Lancaster Underground. A pleasant walking distance to Hyde Park and Oxford St. Concierge very helpful . Small room but good value . Quaint.
Pillows were flat and bed not that comfortable.
Room was very clean
Excellent location near paddington and central line
Room smelled of mold and carpet is very tired looking
I love the location its my third year to visit the hotel last two years were fine but i dont know if i would go back again i asked to upgrade the room because i thought it was very small for three people but i dont think anyone was listening
I didnt like the fact that we are an elderly couple put up on the third floor with a broken lift.
