Location ideal, WiFi excellent.
Bed terrible and should be tossed out. Bathroom woeful, shower did not work and to have mats and carpet on floor in front of toilet just not on - could not believe an accommodation option would do this this day.
Excellent value for money and a comfortable bed.
Breakfast served from 8.30am which was far too late for me to take advantage of due to starting work at 8am. Needs to be served from 7am onwards through the working week.
The room was comfortable and the staff were really nice and kind. Definitely stay here again.
My TV remote in the room didn't work.
A member of staff was helpful,
Outdated room ie, carpets bathroom suite bedding bed, bathroom was gruby and dirty in places.
it has a very good location is comfortable and the food is excellent the breakfast is very good. Would recommend
Staff helpful great location beds comfy
Bit dated needs a lick of paint otherwise great time
Warm welcome and helpful staff, the views were fabulous and the room clean and comfortable. This is a great location with plenty of places to visit within easy reach.
Food was great but VERY slow.
Dated rooms .. Service slow food poor but expensive
the location, the views, the food
waiting for meal for 40 mins
Location Car parking
Slow service Cold water in the shower No room service
We liked the location, the food and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Bed clothes were clean and smelt fresh.
We didn't like the wasps that we're coming in through the vent in the bathroom. The noisy neighbour who had their tv on at 03:45 in the morning and the deep fried breakfast.
Lovely beer garden with plenty of space and a play area excellent for young children Beautiful views and location Room generally comfortable and clean
Child's bed in the family room was hard and lumpy Would have preferred breakfast earlier than 8.30am. Our son was up at 6.30am so we ended up leaving without breakfast as didn't want to hang around for 2 hours! Could do with a bit of modernising and perhaps a few more staff, but in general a pleasant stay.
Misleading information about food. Very poor quality of breakfasts which start at 8.30 am which is much too late if you wish to get out and about. Restaurant prices are astronomical for very poor quality and service.
Very pleasant location
The long wait for cooked breakfast each morning
Breafast was good
No one at reception on arrival. Room was clean, but very dated. Not worth £85 a night!!! Would not recommend anyone to stay there
Breakfast only served 8:00 to 9:00, as we had to leave by 8:00 we got no breakfast which we had paid for.
Great location. Very quiet hotel. Staff are very courteous and helpful. Will stay here again.
There wasn't anything to dislike.
Location was great. Food really good. Breakfast lady really lovely. Wonderful setting
No light bulb in bedside lamp. Wifi didn't work in our room.
We love it here its just very homely just something about the place I/we just love.Steve and wife very pleasant just one staff member we recognised from earlier when we stayed.new staff serving breakfast the lady very courtious couldn't do enough for us/and every table really felt special had a lovely way with responding "your welcome ".rooms had been painted and looked lovely.
WAITING time for food was a bit worrying but you have to allow for busy spells and give a little ,you dont mind if you are told prior or sign put on specials board slight delay food waiting time will be......very nice once arrived could do with giving more chips and livening up the side salad for the price of it.. Still will return next year
Thus isn't a hotel on my view, but a pub with accommodation. No 'management' were evident; the place needs an overhaul: it's shabby and there were botched repairs in places (eg the bath surrounds); there was a broken pane on the emergency door; the wash basin had numerous holes in the enamel
the location was really lovely, sitting proudly in its own grounds with the backdrop of the mountains behind and the river Dee and canal very close by. The walk into Llangollen beside the canal was perfect. The room was quaintly furnished, just as I wanted it to be and had everything I required during mystay. The fact that they welcomed dogs was the icing on the cake.
It was most unfortunate that I received such an indifferent 'welcome' on my arrival after a very long and tiring drive. There was no one on reception so I had to go to the bar where a young lady with no meeting and greeting skills simply left me standing like a lemon for 10 mins while she disappeared off without saying where she was going or why, then returned with the key, took my payment and reluctantly offered to show me to the room, but clearly thought I should just find my own way, so I did. I only encountered two other members of staff in my four days there but both of them were quite different and very pleasant. It was a great shame because first impressions count and although I didn't let it affect my enjoyment of my stay, it definitely took the edge off my arrival and clearly still wrankles or I wouldn't be writing this long essay! That said, I wouldn't let it put me off going back as everything else more than fulfilled my needs, especially since they welcome dogs. Perhaps she was just having a bad day!
Breakfast and Waitress - very good.
The reception was understaffed - therefore your Receptionist was unable to do her job properly. Our room was not cleaned properly. Dangling wires in our room - unsafe.
Outside seating and peacock in the parking lot.
Service, Overhearing a conversation between a guest and the proprietor about how the guest was going to report his domestic abuse that she heard through the wall that night. His response: "You shouldn't be in this country anyway, why don't you go home"
The location was pleasant although the area outside the bedroom needed some attention to make it acceptable.
Unfortunately we did not find most of the staff to be friendly. The service for both the evening meal and breakfast was very slow without much apology for actually forgetting part of the order! We do not like giving negative reports but things will not change unless you know the problems.
