Both being older citizens we appreciated the fact that we were allocated a ground floor room, thereby limiting the number of stairways we had to negotiate. I am 77 years and my wife is over 74. In the early hours of the morning we were awakened by some guests running around the corridors immediately outside our room. There were doors banging, very loud conversations and one character who seemed to laugh out loud at every comment made by the others. This went on for about half an hour, then stopped but re-commenced a short time later to keep us awake for a further period of about twenty minutes. This activity spoiled the night for us. I can tell you that some of the people involved were of Scottish descent...my wife is a Scot.

Friendly, was a good price and position for what we wanted. A little tired in decor but they don't pretend to be 5 star. Breakfast was on time a good choice and very nice. Only complaint was no plug in bathroom sink and a better description of eateries in the vacinity would be an advantage as we struggled to find many places to eat that weren't takeaways.

Fair value for money and quite comfortable bed. I like Abbey Lodge Hotel but please replace furniture in the common room and put some pictures on the walls - It will make this place happier.

The hotel and accommodation were great value for money and room was very clean. If I was going to another party in that area I would definitely stay at the Abbey Lodge Hotel and I have told numerous friends that if they were in the area they should stay at this hotel.

I dont think there was anything we liked about Abbey Lodge, The cleanliness of the room was zero. Dush everywhere and even dirty wetwipes in a drawer in our room!! The hotel overall had a 'dirty' feel to it.

This is a lovely small hotel very close to the city centre and train station. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. The buffet breakfast was very nice. Reception was open 24hours. No complaints and would definitely return.

The staff were very friendly and efficient with an excellent breakfast served. Also a very good location --a few minutes walk into town. The room ,although very, very small was clean and equipped with tea/coffee facilities and an iron/ironing board. Loved the shower !! The room was quite small and it was difficult to use the wardrobe as the door couldnt fully open due to the end of the bed being in the way,and a large chair restricting access to the dressing table drawers. There was also a ripped pillow case used on the bed.

I found it a bit niosey but the staff were lovely and breakfast was good. Good value for money. our son is at Bucks Uni so it was within walking distance for everything. Plenty of tea and coffee in room. Room was small but very clean and it was very good value. You get what you pay for. 8 out of 10.

The staff are always friendly and willing to help. Breakfast is good. 1. Had to ask for towels & gel. 2. Quilt was literally thrown on bed without even straightening sheets and re doing pillows. Pillows in exactly same state as night before! 3. Only one glass in the room and not cleaned/replaced. 4. One morning had to wait for breakfast as no food at all in trays!

Liked the hotel as it was close to train station and the shopping centre .It was also a nice size which made the hotel more friendly .Rooms were comfortable with good shower facilities . Only downside was the slight hill from the shops but that was only because my husband has problems with his legs . Apart from that couldnt fault the hotel . .

Our stay at the Abbey was all we hoped for. The location was good. With onsite parking and being only minutes from the town centre made it the right choice. Staff were pleasant and polite. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. Value for money this could not be beaten.

Nothing This hotel has gone downhill since I stayed there 2 yrs ago, the room I had could do with a total refurbishment, you could only get 4 channels on the tv which is unexceptable in this day and age, cobwebs in the breakfast room etc, etc.

The hotel was very conveniently located; close to city center - a 10 min walk, yet close to the countryside and many National Trust venues. The room was adequate though some items were a little tired; TV and extra bed, neither of which we made use of. Breakfast was great! A hot buffet, fruit and cereals served by friendly, helpful staff. The breakfast room was pleasantly set out. As I mentioned earlier, some items were in need of replacement.

“This hotel is primarily a conference centre and doesn't have all of the facilities one might expect, but if you can manage without a mini bar in your room, you'll be fine! Our room was spacious and airy with a larger than average bathroom complete with iron, ironing board and hair dryer. There was a most comfortable bar, and a dining room that did a breakfast buffet to cater for all tastes. I cannot praise the staff enough, nothing was a problem. The hotel is in a quite country setting and only 2 or 3 miles from High Wycombe, ideal really.” Derek, Northampton |
