The fact that is was close town free car parking and WiFi, excellent receptionist reasonable breakfast we would stay there again if the opportunity arose.
The bacon at breakfast was superb. We were made to feel welcome at reception.
The car park was too small for the number of guests. We missed having sausages for breakfast, as per the menu.
The Room location was great put near a fire exit as we both smoke. Room was clean and basic all you needed.
Only bed (very comfortable) and breakfast ( generous with some varied choices of food )
The bedroom ( no. 38 ) .. The bedside wall lights had no light bulbs and were in the old position of bed ... Net curtains torn and needs replacing .. Some cracks here and there in bathroom .
We were woken in the middle of the night by a couple having a serious argument and then about 6am with people outside our room loudly chatting. I know this wasn't the hotels fault but it spoilt our trip
The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. Shower room was recently refurbished and modern. Breakfast was excellent and included in price.
TV could do with being better, and not a lot of space if more than one person in the room, but it was fine for a couple of nights.
Nothing. However, the young waiters during breakfast were polite and helpful.
Awful place to stay, unfriendly reception staff didn't make us feel welcome.
Mouldy windows, no air in the room
Everything - only two minute walk from City Centre and great value for money !
Sausages would have been nice at breakfast but, hey-ho, I'm a carnivore !!!
The first impressions of the guest house, with a warm welcome from the proprietor, The property was clean and well maintained, as was our room, a good breakfast, good value for the stay well recommended
The wife had problems using the stairs though health reasons but would not expect a lift for the rate of the stay
Location was good - close to town centre shops / market place / theatre etc. Breakfast was good - buffet style but warmer than a lot of buffet breakfasts. Parking was good - especially so close to town centre.
Hotel is 100 yds up a steep hill, so not too good for those with mobility problems (or just unfit like me !!!). Breakfast on both mornings we were there lacked any sausages - but perhaps my fitness was improved for that !! Also have to ask for eggs to be cooked (i.e.boiled/fried/poached) and then have to go to buffet for rest of breakfast.
Very comfortable beds, adequate shower and washing facilities. Very good quality breakfast.
Room would benefit from a little coat of paint.
Shower tray blocked Breakfast room could be larger
The location & staff
the appearance of the place was very poor & uninviting. On entering from the car park, the whole place looks shabby & in need of care. Back entrance - walls of corridoor dirty & in need of painting. Carpet filthy & in need of replacement. Room smelly & cramped.
The location. close to town. Breakfast was good. Staff worked hard clearing tables, replenishing food etc.
1.The shower didn't work properly. miserly amount of shower Gel soap etc 2.Room needs updating. 3.Noise ie. creaking floors above and noisy guests.
Staff,The inclusive breakfast & choices, close proximity to the town centre & railway station.Free parking.
The tired decor, could do with a good revamp everything looked dated with the walls patched up with touches of paint. The room smelt on arrival of drains & possibly stale fag smoke & on opening window it was hanging on just one hinge. The shower cubicle was too small with no where to put shower gel/soap etc & was more like something that you would find in a caravan. The shower curtain was dirty & stained it could of done with being replaced & the whole ensuite was cramped when the bedroom itself was quite large!!!
Location of shops, parking quietness of location, comfortable bed.
Could do with a little fresh paint, shower curtain rail rusty
staff friendly and helpful
rooms were tired and dirty bathroom dirty and had cracked tiles no bar or restaurant as stated in advert only a short walk into town for something to eat though breakfast was Ok hotel needs a good make over
Room over car park with contractors vans in and out so noisy and difficult to sleep
Very pleasant and helpful staff. Plenty of Off road parking, 1st class breakfast, excellent value for money.
Great staff great breakfast clean rooms
People smoking in there rooms
Breakfast was full of lots of choices for adults and children. 5 minutes walk from the high street.
The breakfasts were excellent in quality, and beds very comfortable.
The bathrooms were in need of refurbishment, having mould stains and cracked tiles.
Location although on a very steep hill.
No facilities and more like a B&b. Had to wait for seating in dining room for breakfast and choice of breakfast very poor . Luke warm food and no sausages.
Breakfast was good as long as you didn't leave the table as they cleared it away before you had finished.
The area around the hotel was poor the houses boarded up. Waste ground next to it. The hotel need a paint job. The dinning chairs were grimey ! The toilet bowl was brown! The shower head had cobwebs and looked like it hadn't been used or cleaned in ages (we wouldn't have used it!) the window was dirty and so green with mould on the outside it was difficult to see out. TV had to be retuned. Not a good experience or good value !
