Fantastic location - particularly for the Christmas Market. Compact - everything you need for a short stay. Nicely decorated. Warm. Great view of the Abbey from the kitchen window! Really helpful landlady/staff. Basics provided to start you off (tea/coffee).
I would have preferred a shower to a bath, but it didn't really matter for two nights.
Location Xmas market Facilities DVD, CD Player Value for money Comfort
No Central heating needed to put electric fires on when we came in not ideal. Bed/Living room could do with paint refreshing lots of cracks in the walls although is probably coming to end of season.
Beautiful location, great atmosphere and felt very comfortable. It's 2 minutes from the Baths and can literally see the Abbey from the window. It was clean and welcoming and the decor was very well suited. I went away with my partner for 2 nights here and couldn't recommend it more.
This was definitely the nicest looking place I've stayed in England - the decoration was lovely and the facilities (especially the bath) were excellent. I can see how it would be a good place to stay for a longer visit as the kitchen facilities included a washing machine and all the appliances you'd need, and there was even a selection of new DVDs. The view of the abbey from the kitchen was lovely and the location excellent, being right on the doorstep of the abbey and the baths themselves. The wifi was very fast and Laura was very helpful when we arrived in helping us find it over text. She even provided us with croissants for our breakfast the next day. I didn't want to leave!
We liked everything here! Apartment was equipped with everything you could possibly need. Attention to detail was lovely. Antique furniture, art and ornaments. We were even left Croissants and Jaffa cakes for our arrival. Clean, tidy & spacious for a small apartment. Comfy bed & loads of storage space. Convenient location in the heart of Bath with a view of Bath Abbey through the kitchen window and the ancient tree in the Abbey Square through the front window...beautiful at night. Just perfect for all our needs.
There was nothing we didn't like. No negatives at all regarding this apartment.
The best thing about this apartment is it's location; you cannot get more central than Abbey House. The Abbey itself and the Roman baths - a hundred yards away, yet the Apartment was relatively quiet. It is charming, if not a little tired in places. but saying that it has everything you need; a comfortable bed, a well equipped kitchen and a clean bathroom.
The Victorian "hand-shower". I think these days most people would expect a "proper" shower unit.
location and space
nowhere to sit and look at any view once outside you were straight on the street
Location great, just by the Abbey with a view of it out of kitchen window. In the heart of everything but nicely tucked away in a little square. We had ground floor flat for two days in July 2014. Met at the flat, welcome biscuits and breads, nice touch. No parking but we parked in a long term carpark a short distance away without problem, you just ring the number on the carpark board and pay on credit card over the phone.
The bed linen, all clean but could do with being better quality. Good cotton white sheets being the expected standard norm these days. Bedspread kept slipping down.
The unbeatable location and the overall atmosphere of the studio. Laura was most welcoming and helpful
The bathroom plumbing needs attention; loose taps; the water runs out of the washbasin slowly, probably the u-pipe needs clearing. The loo seat was chipped.
Laura, the host, took extraordinary effort to reach us to ensure we found this partially hidden treasure and, after orienting us, left us with a small starter breakfast--croissants, cream, coffee, and tea. The location and value couldn't be better.
Location, character, size of rooms
Noisy at night, only a hand held shower, curtains let on a lot of light so difficult to sleep.
The shower/ bath needs improving, even a hook would improve the way you have to shower
