The Abbeydale Hotel has easy access to route A61 and highway M1 (North/South). You can walk to Chesterfield’s market and famous ‘Crooked Spire’ in just 5 minutes. The house of the Abbeydale Hotel dates back to 1892, when part of it was a vicarage. The house became a hotel in 1988 and has all the modern facilities you'll need. In the restaurant, the owners Else and Finn prepare and serve the dishes available on the small but exciting menu. Every dish has the quality and charm found only in homemade food. Nicely decorated room, very clean. Excellent full english breakfast. We had our dinner in the hotel restaurant, which was great, quick service. Parking place in the garden.

This is a delightful small hotel and as soon as you walked through the door you felt welcome. Everyone put themselves out to make you as comfortable as possible and the evening meal was amazing, very well presented and delicious. Can honestly say that its the best food that we have ever had in a hotel and we have been in quite a few. We will be back again.

Very friendly, good breakfast and room. Also has a small resident's bar with some nice bottled beers. The men's loo downstairs had lights with rather a short timeswitch :)

We had a warm friendly reception and were made to feel welcome throughout our short stay. The single room was small but comfortable with all that was needed for a pleasant stay. The food was exceptionally good. The price of the evening meal was not published on the website and was a bit of a shock when we got the bill!

the hotel and it's staff , excellent , we only stayed one night . Big let down? , the sink in the bathroom was blocked up with what I can only discribe as human hair , or what my wife said were beard clippings ,not nice . We informed a member of staff who assured us she would report it to management., (hope she did ) .

The hotel was very clean and well furnished. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a good position close to the town centre (about 5 mins walk) The restuarant is very, very good with a small menu having a choice of around 3 starters and 3 mains and deserts. All are excellent, Finn and Else are good chefs. Highly recommendable, we enjoyed our stay there. Eileen and Bob

Enjoyed a 2 night stay at Abbeydale. The owners are very nice and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was wonderful, freshly cooked, hot and tasty (also available toast, cereals etc). Place was very clean and tidy and comfortable bed. Have no hesitation in recommending Abbeydale, and we will certainly stop there again when back in Chesterfield.

Breakfast was excellent and the owner was welcoming and relaxed. We felt he was pleased to see us and interested in our reasons for visiting. We stayed in the area to collect my car from specialist engineers, and we will definitely stay in this hotel again next time we have work done on the car.

This was our fourth stay at Abbeydale Hotel. We are always made most welcome, the rooms are modern and comfortable, and the breakfast is first class. The hotel is central for the town and has good parking. We will stay at Abbeydale again when we next visit Chesterfield,

The location & service was good, very helpfull owners who cooked a very fresh breakfast. Very clean & well serviced room. We felt the bar is just that, a bar. Not a relaxing place to have a drink & unwind having to book a meal well in advance was restrictive for us, so we did not book although we are sure the food would have been excellent

Abbeydale Hotel was a few minutes walk from the centre of Chesterfield town centre and therefore convenient for shopping, restaurants and theatres. The hotel was small but family run, and the owners were friendly and keen to make sure everything was O.K. The bedroom was very clean with a well stocked tea tray and bathroom toiletries. We only had breakfast at the hotel, and that was freshly cooked with a wide choice of food.
