Great country pub feel. Staff friendly and helpful and the local pub patrons were friendly and accepting. Place is quiet and comfortable.

A little away from it all and you do need a car to get there. Not really a problem though.

A very good breakfast . Good parking . A good place to have a meal .

Very steep stairs ,no where to hang a towell in bath room , no bath . Just a shower ,Very loud extractor fan .

My room was very scruffy and badly decorated. More very cheap B&B than hotel standard.

.Breakfast was top class. .Staff very friendly. .Room very comfortable except for temperature too hot. . Despite proximity to the railway I didn't even notice it was there until I went for a stroll the next morning. Would definitely come again.

.Room was too hot and I was too tired to get out of bed to turn the heat down. .Toilet roll holder was missing so you needed to make sure you had picked up a roll before going to the loo. .Vanity light over mirror not working.

it stated there was a hair dryer in the room and there wasn't! We asked and the staff didn't seem to think there should be one. So I had to walk around with wild hair!!

Food was homely.

My room was cold. Bedding took on the smell of the old mattress, had to shower in the morning, as I always do, but mainly to get rid the smell. Shower door didn't fit the door casing and would not shut, OK if you aren't shy I suppose. Basic and cheap.

The foods in bar are fantastic！

Room was right next to railway line. Didn't hear trains though.

Nothing to dislike

Couldn't fault the place nor the staff and owner. Makes a change to actually stay somewhere that is value for money, has good service and quality of food.

The staff were very welcoming to myself and my 15 year old son. The food was incredibly delicious, there was what seemed to be a long wait for the food but that was because they cooked it freshy to order instead of microwaved mush that you can get at other places. The portions were large and all good quality food. The room was very clean and well laid out, the radiator was welcome after a cold day on the mountain and the bedding was clean and fresh.

There was a little mould on the silicone sealant around the bathroom that made it look tired but was sparkly clean and a lovely shower was had.

Really lovely country pub, period property. Food was well worth the wait. Not gourmet but reasonably priced, local, decent food. Cosy and warm Friendly staff Nice surroundings

Pillows and duvets were cheap. Bedside light was impossible to get your hand under the lampshade to switch the light off/on. Doors banging all night VERY loudly. Cooling fans for cellar or air con of some kind on outside wall of bedroom making lots of noise

The staff were very welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable. It was very warm, in fact we had to turn the radiator down as it was so warm, which makes a change. It was very central to the places that we wanted to visit during our stay and the breakfast was very nice. The location of Abbeyfield is great. It was very peaceful and the train did not bother us at all. We would definitely go back for another weekend break.
