The hotel's location - literally 2 minutes walk to the Abbey, Roman Baths and Thermae Spa Though it was not anyhow displayed when we were booking the room, we've been checked into one on the lower ground floor. So the only view from the window was onto passers-by feet - and that's for 170 pounds a night. The hotel needs major referbishment, as it is neither clean, no fresh. The personnel at breakfast was not helpful by bringing the right order only on the 3rd time

Location was excellent and a great breakfast Poor parking facilities and we had a very large family room billed as a double, underneath the breakfast room. It was noisy and not especially romantic.

Generally a satisfactory hotel in an excellent location. Despite its central position it is very quiet. I did not eat there, either for dinner or breakfast, so I cannot comment on anything other than the room.

Good location with friendly staff. Well kept simple accommodation. A good base for exploring Bath. Would probably stay here again. A little on the expensive side for a hotel of this quality. Over a hundred pound per night for fairly basic accommodation. Breakfast not included but could be added for £16/head!!! It would have to be very very good for that.

Location was good. Staff Friendly There was a lot of noise outside the hotel for most of the night. Although the room was double glazed we had to have the window open as the room was so warm and stuffy.

Would not stay there again or recommend it as the staff are not very friendly & the breakfast (although not included) was appalling 2 poached eggs in a dry piece of toast for £5.95 ! Also parking at a local car park costs £12 per day & we had to wait almost half an hour for a space.

Great location. Possibly the least comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. Quite noisy inside the hotel, squeaky floors.

The staff were very helpful and professional and the location of the hotel was excellent. The lift was out of order for the duration of the weekend and with the room being on the third floor, it was very difficult with luggage and shopping bags. The bathroom was very tired looking and the shower was more a trickle than a shower. Due to bad pressure it was also very difficult to balance the hot and cold water. These problems would have been irritating had it been on a budget price, but it was a high room rate and certainly not worth the money. However, the location was superb.

The location was great - very close to the Bath Abbey and city centre. My room was at the back of the hotel and there was noise coming from outside throughout the night - sounded like things being moved around.

Most convenient position and size of room was very good as was the décor, also the lounge area very pleasant and luggage store really convenient. Because of its central position in the city it was rather noisy at night, which was not at all the fault of the hotel and was more than balanced out by its convenience. The food was rather disappointing for the price.

Not much only its city centre location. It has a four star rating which I find hard to believe, room was only adequate with poor facilities within the room. The price could not be considered value for money as general facilities in the hotel are poor and the whole place is really in need of major investment.

Lovely big room, character property typical of Bath, and nice setting. Good breakfast. The lift was broken when we arrived and the receptionist asked if we wanted to move rooms down to a lower floor, which we did. Staff carried our heavy bags to the room. Pillows were not the most comfortable. The hotel does not have a car park (which we knew about) and the public long stay ones are some distance awayv(which we were not prepared for). We walked to the hotel not realising how far it was leaving our bags in the car and then got in a taxi close to hotel to collect them as it was raining, this added £10 to the cost of the quite expensive stay.

A great location for visitng the central city sites. Great for visiting the Abbey, the Baths and all of the shopping in the Bath area. Plus, it is only about a five minute walk from the railway station. Best location in Bath. A bit noisy in the outside courtyard. Not sure if this is part of the hotel. I found the WiFi connection impossible to use.

The hotel was clean and tidy looked a bit tired in places with decoration. The hotel was in a excellent location the food was also excellent in the bath tea rooms attached although there did not seem to be a good evening menu for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our 30th wedding anniversary weekend. The rooms were to hot as it was not that hot (just pleasently warm)during the weekend it must be very bad in hot weather. Also we had to close the window alot as the extractor to the kitchen was noisey.

Easy walk to many great attractions and facilities Very uncomfortable beds, could feel the wire springs! Also, heavy synthetic bed covers - I ended up taking the cover off the duvet and sleeping under it! Noisy corridor outside the bedroom with a door nearby that banged shut regularly through to 3am. Sadly therefore as we did not sleep, despite the other wonderful features of the hotel we could not stay there again nor recommend it

Location is brilliant. Easy walk from rail station or bus station. Probably a problem if you come by car, but who would want to drive in Bath anyway. Breakfast excellent. Bar is a bit pedestrian but who needs a bar with such a good pub (The Huntsman) next door. I booked my next stay as I was leaving and reception promised to email me confirmation which has not yet arrived. They may not have my email address! I will remind them. I did recommend the hotel to my cousin and his wife and they joined us there.

I really appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of Laura, the hotel receptionist, who did her best to make us feel comfortable and who informed us of the best restaurants in town and who kindly answered all our questions. She is an outstanding receptionist who goes beyond her way to please Best Western's clients

The location and proximatory to the sights is good . The charater and age is pleasant. The noise from outside kept me awake till 3 am with drunken revellers shouting and fighting outside. The window didn't close properly and the secondary glazing only had one of the two panels in the window frame . The toilet took 10 minutes to refill , the shower was weak and only luke warm. I paid £130 for room that was worth less than half that even with its location.

“Comfortable clean rooms, peaceful ambience, very customer focussed and competent staff. Breakfast was just as previous visitors have decribed, a good selection to please most people and on a par with upmarket hotels. Car parking although £10 a day for the service is worth it in Bath. Location for city centre walking is excellent.” Michael, Wynyard |
