Large room, big bed, nice shower.
Slamming Doors, poor restaurant service. Had to replace toilet roll myself
Friendly and helpful staff Lovely location Good food both in the bistro and restaurant
Entance sign on the road could be made clearer
Getting over charged for room and breakfast we didnt have!
Very large nice shape bedroom. Convenient for motorway. has a pool
silly blue light in bathroom. bar felt a bit like a corridor to restaurant not very relaxing to sit there
Menu for evening meals excellent. Room quality excellent.
Failed to receive the newspaper I ordered, breakfast food was not hot, croissants stale.
Extremely comfortable and well appointed room
Décor is tired in the communal areas
The hotel did not live up to our expectations. However the facilities (though small and basic spa area) were clean and the setting and location was great. Good for golf and great view from restaurant and bars.
The rooms were small, basic and outdated compared to many other 4* hotels and I believe it was more like a 3*. The weekend we stayed the bar was open until very late and due to the warm weather it's patrons congregated outside on the bar patio, leading to a rowdy crowd until 1am, which due to the small size of the hotel could be heard throughout. The staff we encountered at the spa and bar seemed disinterested in any queries. We booked due to the spa facilities but these closed early at weekends so by the time we had returned to the hotel from exploring the local area in the evenings we could not use them and we could not book any treatments all weekend due to unavailability. The pool area is also small so filled up very quickly during the day and we could not access. 3 days of no spa and hardly any sleep. The hotel is focused on golf and the sports bar but not great for a relaxing stay or families.
Friendly Staff Great facilities Good Value for money!
Carol - the receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly Room was nicely decorated and bathroom was great
Food in Tawny's was quite expensive
Loved the comfy bed, spacious rooms and fantastic shower. Lovely food highly recommend
Although benifitting from modern building conveniences the hotel has been constructed to luxurious dimensions. The room was very well appointed and of ample size. It's en suite bathroom had both a full size bath and a separate shower cubicle. Meals were available from the formal dining room, the bar adjoining the dining room, and also a sports bar on the floor above the swimming pool. I chose the informal sports bar and had an excellent meal.
No hand soap in the bathroom, the down lighter in the shower didn't work. Otherwise I could not fault my stay.
Just a great place to go to and relax. We do hope to go again
Good Pool. Bar overlooking the golf course was lovely - eating outside on the terrace was great. Rooms were very comfortable.
Nothing at all.
The staff at breakfast were lovely, and when we mentioned our frustrations over the pool/child access they were sympathetic and mentioned it had been a problem before. The duty manager offered a small discount as compensation.
This hotel uses it's website to promote a family friendly offering, linking it's close proximity to West Mids Safari Park to make it an ideal base for families. In reality this is a golf resort which radically limits children's use of the pool/facilities for fear of offending it's adult membership. Children can't access the pool after 7pm or before 10am which rules out any use when you are spending a day at the safari park, cadbury world etc. They want the income from families but have no interest in accommodating them. We were made to feel like second class citizens for wanting access to the pool etc. We left having never been able to use the pool we payed for and it spoilt our break. Don't be fooled by the website.
Pool Vieq from Tawney s Rooms cleaned regularly
Noise from people in room above due to squeaky flooring
Facilities - gym, pool etc Catered for children Friendly staff Food quality good
Not a fine dining restaurant, - food came separately, - specials read from a list, - had to ask for bread rolls, - shown to a table with 3 chairs when we were 4, - had to ask for wine glasses as only two on the table, - asked for jugs of water, given bottles - ordered wine and we were brought the wrong bottles twice - wine left on the table for us to poor, not even asked to taste. Also rooms are acceptable but need some work. Bathrooms very tired and only shampoo and body wash supplied.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we felt totally at ease, able to ask questions, and not in the least made to feel like an "outsider", a problem we have had in the past.
Very picky, this, but it took us a whole 24 hours to discover where the switch for the main bedroom light was! Had to make do with the bathroom light, and a couple of bedside lamps. Eventually found it behind the bed at knee height. No objections to it being there - would just like to have known!
Location, friendliness of staff.
Small bathroom Plum instead of fresh tomatoes at breakfast buffet.
I enquired about my children using the swimmimg pool on the saturday afternoon. I was told we could use it upto 7 pm, but when we arrived just before 6pm your member of staff informed me that he had made a mistake, there was a swimming class & we could not use the pool.
excellent room size
The rooms are very spacious and modern. Wifi is very good. Plenty of car park space
Room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was lovely, a lot of choice. The staff were very friendly. We attended a wedding there which was lovely.
Room was very hot. We had windows open, ceiling fan on and desktop fan. But it was a warm and muggy day so would think would normally be ok.
Facilities and staff customer service during stay.
Fire alarm at 5.30 am. Choice of bar food a bit limited.
The hotel was beautiful; staff were excellent, very patient and really helpful. The room was lovely and clean, beds were very comfy. The pool was clean and water was warm. Good choice for breakfast.
I think I would prefer a slightly larger room with the sloping ceiling that we had.
The room was lovely we stayed in a lovely room, nicely decorated and comfortable with great view of the golf course. Staff were fab really friendly and helpful. Our spa treatment was amazing totally relaxing. Spa facilities excellent. The food in the restaurant was served well ,tasty and beautifully presented. All in all a lovely stay a real treat .
As it was a birthday celebration, we went to bed quite late, knowing that checkout was 11 am we thought we would get a good lie in .Even though we put a do not disturb note on he the door ,the housekeeping still knocked the door several times and opened the door calling for room service .No joke at 8.15 in the morning. If it wasn't for that I would not have found fault with our stay .
