Staff were very helpful and friendly, room was clean and well furnished. Our room was on the ground floor right by reception and the main entrance so was a bit noisy as other guests came in late at night talking rather loudly. Would recommend that light sleepers request a quieter room.

Stayed here because everything else was full. It's a bed. The man on the reception was helpful and friendly and the reception is 24 hours. Shower worked and wireless was fine. Not noisy. If you need a room for a night its fine, if you were travelling for pleasure... not really.....nothing wrong with it but nothing to write home about. The location is really a taxi ride from the station. It's basic and theres quite a lot of steps up. It's not well finished cosmetically and it was basically a "builders hotel" when I was there - as in, its somewhere you sleep if you are on a job and need a room.

The bathrooms were first class, the decor and showers were probably some of the best experienced I was not keen onits location - we accessed the hotel from the opposite end to Oxford road and came through very harrow roads ( cars prked on both sides and although two was it was necessasy to allow only one car either up or down at a time, the road ( Connaught) was patchy, giving the impression of slight neglect

We felt the staff were couteous and very polite. The beds were really comfy and the room was clean, although the bathroom a little dated. Given the cost at very short notice we didn't see this as a big problem but others might. There are pubs and lots of takeaway joints within five minutes walk which is handy. Guests have 24 hour access with a keycard which is not always the case at small establishments relying on night porters. The breakfast was very well cooked and staff very attentive without being overbearing. As two females we felt very safe at this hotel. The only downside is the distance from the centre of Reading. We arrived at 9 and the bar was closed. The bar itself really only serves canned cider, lager, mini bottles od wine and limited spirits so if this is a criteria for selection guests need to be aware. The tv in the room had limited reception but this wasn't a major problem as we're not tv people, but again, others might not be happy with this.

The wifi connection was pretty consistant The hotel room was small the tv was very small and crt and only had 4 channels. I would expect at the price I paid at least a flat screen tv with Freeview which would have given more space on the small desk. The walls where very thin, I could here the person next door making phonecalls and he was not raising his voice but it was like he was stood next to me. This hotel would be ok for building contractors who just want a bed for the night. I will not be staying here again I would sleep in my car first!!

Where do I begin, on arrival the owner came hurtling out of the door telling us we must move the cars as this car park was for long vehicles, but no signs. We checked in and as you came through reception the smell hit you, the rooms were dirty and smelly. It was noisy all night due to lady night visitors. Don't do it, it really is not recommended!

Hotel located near to a rather salubrious part of the town. Had issues with the first room we were allocated but staff happily changed this to another. Room was ok, beds a bit soft for my liking & the tv 'ghosted'. Reasonable accomodation for the price paid but don't expect anything special.
