Oscar restaurant noisy with singer making conversation with guests difficult. Also restaurant very busy making service slower than usual
Only stayed for one night. Had quick look around the interior and was very impressed with the original features and quality of the recent upgrade. External Christmas decorations/lighting very good.
I loved the decor it was very tasteful.breakfast was very nice too!
There was nothing to complain about
The stay was stunning driving up to the hotel with all the lights was magical. Staff are very friendly and helpful and would do anything to help you.
The only complaints I would have to make is the room was very cold but was told that they had would done on it and heating had not been turned on and should heat up but this wasn't the case. Also there was no toilet brush!
The initial impression when coming off the main road into the hotel driveway and seeing all the Christmas decorations was amazing! It truly takes your breath away, so we'll done on a supurb display both outside and inside the hotel. Alan Cooksey
Comfort and value for money .Close to the Hospital for visiting elderly parent, shame we didn't have time to explore the grounds.A winter wonderland and lovely warm welcome in our home town-brilliant want to re-visit soon.
Room 125 was very noisy! There was a panel next to the bed behind which must have been hot water pipes. The noise of the valves going on and off when guests were using the hot water was quite noticeable. At first I thought the room was next to a lift shaft,Also quite a small room.
Ordered room service after 45min still no show. Informered the restaurant they had the wrong room number 107 instead of 102?. They brought the food, this was cold and charged the full amount for it. A bottle of still water 7,60 pounds.
The room decor was beautiful all new and modern .the whole guest areas were impressive.we arrived at twilight to a lovely Christmas lights display Against the red sandstone exteria.the breakfast was outstanding a buffet and variety of cooked options
The evening meal was not anything to write home about however
The rooms were comfy and warm (We requested a room with a bath) with a nice big bath. Food was excellent for both breakfast and evening meals and the staff very friendly. At this time of year the christmas decorations when driving down the drive were fantastic.
Wifi wasn't the best, It was OK in the bar areas but very poor in the rooms.
Everything was faultless, staff very friendly, excellent food, clean - quite exceptional and will stay there again.
The vivid pink chairs near the reception should be cremated at the earliest opportunity or given to a brothel.
Everything was to a very high standard and the staff were very friendly
A stunning entrance to this Lutyen's House and its grounds. Very friendly reception; welcoming to the Westies; comfortable and spotless bedrooms; high standard restaurant with professional service; and yes, we did hear the owl at night!
Bar facilities very limited with nowhere to sit before or after a meal. Would it not be possible to have a residents' bar/lounge?
Beautiful hotel and great idea that the dogs could come along ?
Dogs had to stay in room or go in the grounds as they was not allowed in a bar area or anywhere else .There wasnt any dog friendly pubs in the area either.Maybe a little too posh for dogs? Room service was £5 per person on top of £15 per dog!
The Christmas feel on turning into the drive way.........fabulous!!!! The food was just fantastic........the room, location and staff all great xxxx
The decor of the hotel was beautiful, most tastefully done. The rooms were comfortable and breakfast was gorgeous
Welcome by staff. Oscar's Restaurant Walks in grounds
The hotel looks very good and also the restaurant.
The room was very smely. It small like paint or something. It is not a 4 star room anyway.
The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. At breakfast they had a wide choice to choose from. Took around 10 mins to drive into the centre.
The only downfall was there were not enough staff at breakfast. I wasnt offered any tea or coffee untill I had finished my breakfast and was ready to leave as I coukdn5t catch the eye of any staff.
everything.was pefect thank you
Easy to get to. Welcoming staff. Good room. Local attractions. Great breakfast.
The fact that they rang to take payment for evening meal when we had already paid for it
Everything about our experience at The Abbey House Hotel was superb. From the location, to the staff and the excellent food. We will stay there again.
Having to leave
