A very quiet, comfortable place to stay.
There seems to be a problem with the plumbing. Twice during the evening/night there was a very loud noise like a train letting off steam.
bed was comfy, location was quiet, imagine it would be better in the summer as they have tennis court and plenty of green to walk round. Staff seemed pleasant...just such a shame the way they handled the unfortunate event during our stay really ruined what was supposed to be a well needed night away. All i would have liked was an apology or some sort of compensation.
Woke up by the fire alarm at 1am to then be accused infront of the other guests of setting it off, they later realised water had leaked onto the electrics and set it off (which explained the damp all over the room)! We were then moved to another room where the alarm was set at 6am to wake us up. No apologies in the morning or offer of refund. Only after i requested breakfast to be refunded as I was too tired to get up between 8-9 to have it. You had to book ahead for dinner and was only served till 6, most places near by were driving distance. Such a shame it could have been a pleasant stay.
Very clean and well serviced cabins. Swimming pool an facilities were clean and staff were so attentive. We will be visiting again
.... excellent price / value ,,,,decent swimming pool ,,, quiet location 3 mins kents bank station,,, London / manchester just one change of train !
not a lot,,,;) you get what you pay for ,,, with a smile !
The lodge was clean, fully equipped, very warm, spacious. Pool was great. Staff were super. Good base for exploring the lakes. Local pubs good for food.
The gentleman who checked us in really went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay. We felt really welcomed. The pool facility was lovely,as was the surrounding area.
I only halve a small qualm with it. It would have been nice to have someone to call with issues late on. Just after 11 we discovered our kettle wasn't working and also had some rowdy guests next door keeping us awake; my partner asked them to keep it down after enduring hours of it and they kindly did but I think it's nice when the hotel deal with that stuff, to take pressure off the guests.
It was quite cheap but then I got what I paid for.
I was told when I went down for breakfast that I couldn't use the dining room as it was reserved for a large party. Instead a table was set up for me by myself in the coffee area directly in front of the reception desk. I was told I could use the hot and cold buffets in the dining room (hurrah!!!), but had to track back through the hotel with my food to my lonely table by reception. Talk about being excluded. I ordered a pot of tea and toast but neither came ..... maybe they couldn't find my table by reception.
The pool was great. Was a nice scenic place surrounded by trees. Staff were friendly enough and helpful
No shower in bathroom. Room was dated, there was no food on while we was there had to travel in bad weather to another hotel for food.
Friendly staff, clean and tidy, excellent value for money
Shared toilet plumping noisy. Hotel had a group and forgot their other customers making them feel unwelcome.
We had a premium family room and it was really large, clean, modern. The majority hotel is dated but premium rooms must have been recently modernised and the swimming pool is great ! Real value for money
Lovely swimming pool. Excellent value for money.
everything, lovely staff who made our stay with them so good, will be going back for another holiday, lovely swimming pool thats nice and clean, big thank you to all the staff
not a thing
Staff Facilities Price Location
Quite shabby Understaffed
Amazing value for the price of B and B, due to upgrade into the main hotel. Arrived late, but had rung to let them know, so they had organised a key for my room at reception after it had closed, and a personal letter explaining about breakfast arrangements. Staff went out of their way to look after me at breakfast.
Nothing to not like.
Value for money we all had a lovely time. The window in lodge three was broken but staff were told and said would fix ASAP. Swimming pool was on the cold side!
Friendly staff and very helpful
We got an upgrade when we got there and reception were very helpful.
The politeness of the staff very helpful the the facilities they had on site just a great place to stay
Mattress was hard difficult to find reception on a night should be more signs to point to the reception from the car park apart from that it's was excellent
I thought it was really not very clean at all. Especially the shared bathroom situation was unbearable. I can't talk for the regular rooms, but I would definitely never book a room with shared bathrooms there again.
