Awesome location, beautiful building, great breakfast, lovely people. Sitting by the fire with a drink in the great hall
This box is empty because there is nothing not to like
The Great Hall is amazing, and I enjoyed driking tea by the hue fireplace. The owners are lovely and happy to explain the history of the Grange.
I had a separate bathroom and felt it could have been a bit more luxurious.
Stunning venue, full of history
House smelt of dogs and not find lady of house friendly or welcoming
Unfortunately the bed was far too small.
Tranquility, cleanliness, super breakfasts and Topsy, the owner, had so much knowledge of the area. Beautiful, comfortable furniture and tasteful paintings and memorabilia gave this home a very inviting feeling. Within walking distance of the village of Broadway and 'The Swan',real English pub serving great meals.
When we arrived we were blown away. The 700 year old building is absolutely stunning, as are the grounds. Richard greeted us and was very pleasant, giving us a tour and advising complimentary tea and cake and also sherry etc in the large hall-come-lounge. All were excellent. Our room looked fantastic with a four poster bed and the furnishings were spot on adding to the authentic feel of the hotel
Unfortunately the bed was uncomfortable and we discovered late at night whilst trying to find a missing earring that behind the headboard of our bed there lived a family of 7 spiders, 1 of which was rather large. So my partner waited in the hallway in the middle of the night while I removed the spiders. I also noticed that the floor - particularly under the bed - was filthy with down from pillows, dead flies, fluff and human hair. In the morning Richard's wife - I didn't quite catch her name, and who came across a little cold - stated "well you get spiders in the country" and whilst, yes that may be a reasonable excuse for the truly huge spider I found in the bath upon arrival - there was no shower with our room - it doesn't excuse a whole family and masses of cobwebs behind the headboard and other furniture. The bed was uncomfortable, creaky and we slept approx 4 hours. Such a beautiful location - and it truly is - deserves much more attention to the basics i.e. Cleanliness and comfort. At a relatively minor cost to the hosts this would make the £175 I paid for 1 night much more justifiable. There are only 4 rooms at this boutique hotel so it would be difficult to change once you arrive. I would recommend this but state in your booking requests that you want the room thoroughly cleaned first and a quiet, comfortable bed.
Beautiful village location close to pub and amenities but sufficiently isolated to feel away from it all.
No real complaints.
Location close to high st but completely secluded and quiet. Property is beautiful and full of character. Grounds are interesting and beautiful. Room was light, airy and elegantly decorated. Bed comfy Excellent Breakfast made to order Service and welcome excellent.
We loved the facilities, the spaciousness & the authentic feel of the place. The gardens were magnificent & the amenities had all the fine detail for a luxurious get away. The breakfasts were superb, fresh & dining at a round table encouraged interaction with other guests. An ideal B&B for a romantic get away or a short stopover, but you need to indulge for more than one night!
It was hard to find the place as it isn't well signposted.
