Our overall experience with Abottsford was excellent! From our arrival and check in process with the owner, to our incredible room and facilities, and the most amazing breakfasts - she catered for our gluten free requests - we would recommend this place to anyone wishing to visit Edinburgh!
Great breakfast, good atmosphere, comfortable, close to transport, friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Choice of breakfast (good) Helpfull host
On street parking Toilet too small
Excellent facilities and great breakfast
a bit far away from the city centre
Friendly & helpful owner/staff, very clean & comfortable rooms, good breakfasts, convenient for buses into city centre but not too far to walk
Our room (especially the bathroom) was "compact" although ok for our stay of a couple of nights
Very comfortable bed and pillows with white cotton linen. Relatively quiet for a city location. Excellent shower. Delicious breakfast!
The hotel is is a fairly convenient location; not at the center of the city, but within walking distance of most attractions. Rooms are small, but beds are good quality and facilities up to date. Breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful. Price was very reasonable for Edinburgh.
Wi-fi was spotty. No on-site parking, but on street parking usually available close by. (Make sure your car has collapsible side mirrors!)
nothing to dis like, clean, tidy, all mod cons
breakfast at 8, don't know what it is with most hotels that serve breakfast between 8 and 9 What about the real workers who have to be at work for 8 try breakfast 7 till 8.30
A very warm welcome on our arrival. The room was very comfortable, clean and well decorated, as was the breakfast room.
The showers on the second floor are not powerful enough
Excellent room, new facilities, comfortable bed. I liked the body lotion in the bathroom. Cooked breakfast was good, but it would be good to have some more variety of continental options. Plenty of buses in Leith Walk (day ticket is £3.50).
A little bit cold room for my liking.
hospitality of owner, easy access into town centre and Leith, lighting in bathroom, cleanliness of room, comfort of bed, breakfast service
room a little on the small side for the price paid
The room was clean, well equipped and the staff were friendly and helpful.
For a family room, it was quite small and a long walk from the centre of Edinburgh.
Street is noisy the whole night. Staff is hospitable but too busy.
Abbotsford Guest House is a lovely place to stay, the rooms are well equipped, the wi-fi is working everywhere. The breackfast is great (the dining room alone is worth a visit!) and the team is very flexible. Close to the city, bus stop nearby.
It is an excellent Guest House. They are very helpful and it is a really pleasant place to stay. I used it as a base for the Commmonwealth Games in Glasgow, and this worked out well, it's about 1 mile from the station. Must mention the excellent breakfast. Would stay again.
The shared bathroom for the top floor rooms can be an issue if in a hurry!
The owner is helpful and friendly. Breakfast
Parking on a street Not enough space for suitcases
It is in a very convenient position for a short bus ride or 15 minute walk into the city centre. The owner is very pleasant and friendly. Room clean and comfortable.
Our room had a really tiny bathroom. My wife thought that the breakfast sausage was of poor quality.
The guest house was clean and tidy and very well appointed. The proprietor else's was friendly and relaxed, and the dining room staff were friendly and efficient.
Perhaps only the long haul up the stairs, but it was not really a problem. One expects a climb in Scottish B&B S.
Paola made our stay very enjoyable and comfortable. Rooms are very spacious, clean, nicely furnished and have comfortable beds. Guesthouse is a 15 min walk to centre with bus stop and supermarket close by. We highly recommend it!
The host Paula and her daughter were very warm and accommodating. Ideal city centre accommodation.
Bedroom , breakfast and location
The beautiful Victorian property. The easy walk into town. The breakfast. Welcoming hosts
This place is a short walk form the train station and center of town. I had a very nice stay in a cozy room. The staff were very friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. The breakfast was good perfect.
Nothing not to like
Great large bedroom, comfortable beds and great breakfast. Close to Theatre, Indian and other restaurants.
