With a stunning location overlooking the Great Ouse River in Bedford’s town center, the 18th-century Bedford Swan Hotel features a Roman-style pool and a hot tub.
Score from 388 reviews Very good
-tranquil setting in the countryside -quiet corridors at night which did not disturb your sleep -spotlessly clean
-hotel key/electonic opening system could be difficult to get to work.
A very good standard. We had an evening meal in the bar, it was very nice however a little over priced. Breakfast was very nice a good selection and good quality food.
The quality of the accommodation, pleasent staff.
Rooms are a good size Bar food good Location is great - particularly if you have dogs, which I do - walks straight from the room door ! Staff are efficient, friendly and helpful Very good value for money
Shower over bath a little awkward to use - works off the bath taps, but a minor issue
Breakfast staff very attentive
No wifi, essential for business traveller Had to wait for 35 mins for dinner the excuse was there was a big group in, when it did arrive it was just warm
One of the best english breakfasts I've ever had.
Very little, Location and surroundings were good.
Food was poor to average. Accomodation clean and adequate, but not up to the standard I would have expected from this type of accomodation.
Location was peaceful next to a golf course & quiet at night
No Wifi available despite being advertised & no concession by hotel for this lack of service. Poor quality evening meal although cooked breakfast was fine. £100 per night is a bit OTT for such a moderate hotel
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable
Great dog friendly hotel .
Each time I stay here, I like it a little more. This time I dined out of the hotel, so I can't comment on the food apart from the breakfasts which are great, hot and nice and varied.
Nothing. Thought it is still an idyllic place to stay during the summer when you can make the most of the lovely rural location.
Abbotsley Golf Hotel is a fine and relaxing place to stay. Its also great value for money and the surrounding landscape, at this time of year, does a soul good. I only wish I played golf, so I could make the most of their courses. People are great, place is great, food is good, and rooms are clean and quiet. What's not to love?
None of the breakfast tables had been cleared from the previous occupier. Sat a uncleaned table which remained that way for my entire breakfast.
Clean, welcoming and comfortable
One or two simpler items on restaurant menu would have been good
Excellent Food both Evening Meal and Breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This was my first visit and it will not be my last.
very basic breakfast, poor choice of cereals,no yoghurts or danish pastries etc, lack of the personal touch from staff, unwelcoming, room and decor poor for price paid
friendly staff one in particular Kim very helpful friendly making are stay very pleasant.
Television in the room small would have been better up on the wall.
Evening meals; Friendly staff; Golf course Comfortable room
Full English breakfast-my wife had an issue with the poor quality of a poached egg(and its replacement)
over-cooked duck, almost inedible. pork belly similarly. Not impressed. breakfast wasOK.
Being able to take our dog, and the excellent golf course.
One of the lady bar staff was v grumpy! Also your question 7 does not have a sport theme or dog friendly theme - so unfair to hotel.
