Great Location Warm Welcome Great Breakfast Comfortable place to stay No unnecessary frills that you don't need! Shrewsbury is AMAZING!!!!! Would defo return and recommend.
The great location does mean that a few people wander past after a few beers in early hours but no big deal. Benefits of location outweigh this tiny issue.
The hotel is very nice and welcoming. The location is excellent and you can't fault the rooms. Plenty of thing to do and nice bars of restaurants. Highly recommended and the breakfast is very nice and nice eating area.
Friendly helpful staff; comfortable bed; good breakfasts; quiet central location.
No complaints at all.
Less than 100 metres to the start of the town centre but no traffic noise, it was also less than 200 metres from the river. Very friendly staff and an excellent breakfast.
The fact that we only had two nights and one day for our stay.
Bed not over comfortable Ensuite very small
Some residents were parking inconsiderately to ensure they had a parking space when the hotel has a system in place.
Caring attitude of housekeeper when she realised I was sick. Very comfortable bed. Excellent bath. Excellent location. Friendly, helpful manager
I left my coat behind! Noisy guests coming in at 3am
Breakfast good waitress lovely and
Perfect for visiting Shrewsbury with on-site parking. Rooms vey comfortable and breakfast well cooked and plentiful.
Clean and comfortable hotel with car parking situated in the centre of Shrewsbury and within easy reach of all amenities. Good breakfast.
Room a bit small with inadequate lighting but otherwise very good.
Lovely location near river. Very clean, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Would certainly recommend this hotel and book again if in the area.
What a marvellous hidden gem is the Abbots Mead Hotel. Where else could possibly find a decent hotel, with free parking and an excellent breakfast right in the Shrewsbury town centre, for the price charged. The breakfast was all that one would want, cooked to order. It's location was walking distance to all the main sights and close to Greyfriars Bridge and the walk along the river. We will be recommending this hotel to anyone wanting accommodation in Shrewsbury.
A small problem. Because the room is so large, the TV screen needs to be larger. Also, because of recent road re-design, access would be improved by including , in the directions, a note that the hotel is near the foot of Wye Cop.
Central location food good staff friendly
room needed redecorating. curtains need linnings.
Lovey rooms, such a comfy bed. Great freshly cooked breakfast, very helpful owners. Fantastic location.
Nothing to dislike.
Window would not close and got woken up at1.30 sun morning by load music sounded like a radio.
Very historical location for either a weekend or as a base for exploring the area. Excellent friendly staff where nothing was too much trouble for them. Lots going on in the area, would certainly recommend this Hotel and Citu as a great destination.
Very friendly family run business.
Some noise from late night revellers - not the hotel's fault.
friendly atmosphere, cheerful staff
nothing to dislike.
Excellent location for town centre.
An excellent hotel for visiting Shrewsbury. We were warmly welcomed and parking was easy. The twin room (16) was ideal for two friends sharing, spacious and with well separated and comfortable beds. We loved the ample shelf space in the bathroom, something not often seen in hotels at this price. The breakfast (full English) was freshly cooked and service was good.
The hotel was rather shabby but this did not detract too much. The shower was over the bath and just adequate; a shower compartment with a good pressure shower would be preferable.
Location , service at breakfast was excellent
Hard to find with sat nav as well
Clean and comfortable. Close to amenities. Staff very helpful
Staff Location Breakfast Cleanliness
