The hotel was very central to the town's facilities and lovely river walks. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. The whole place was clean and well kept. Breakfasts great and nice patio/garden. They also welcome pets which was the main reason we chose the hotel. Very convenient for restaurants etc. Good points outweigh the bad by far. The area around the hotel is being built up and to some extent spoils the location, but on the other hand once inside you are not aware of the changes. Because the actual two floors of rooms is cosy you can hear other people moving around and talking sometimes. The pub nearby is noisy but only if people are in the garden as the whole place (Shrewsbury) is quite quiet at night.

Great location, provided you don't miss the turning and end up stuck on the one way system. Staff pleasant and happy to give directions to local attractions. Parking was very poor and involved handing over keys to car for the hotel owner to move them about. Shower in the room was too small to realistically use, and was barely a trickle of luke warm water. The beds were hard and uncomfortable as well as the room being freezing cold (even on a pleasant day outside). It was also very very noisy overnight, with many rowdy and drunken people visiting the pub next door and the take away across from the restaurant. We were hoping this would cease when the take away closed at midnight but to no avail - the noise went on until gone 3am. Definitely would not recommend, much better value for money elsewhere. We moved hotel for the second and third night of our weekend.

Friendly staff and comfortable room, good breakfast, very convenient location for the centre of town. It's worth pointing out that the hotel is cheek by jowl with its neighbours and the car park is particularly cramped. I have no problems with this and I managed to park without difficulty, but the photos on the website gave me a different impression!

Good location in the centre of town. Quiet at night. Nice breakfast room overlooking garden. Room was rather small and furnishings could do with updating. Breakfast times are rather limited. Breakfast options could be a bit more varied.

Having the internet is very important to my trips, and the staff had no qualms about restting the adapters when it stopped working for me. The owners were incredibley friendly like that. The member of staff that served my breakfast on the first morning was miserable as sin.

Helpful staff; peaceful atmosphere. Good English breakfast. Intially the rom felt cool, as to be expected in a single-glazed period house, but tmperature was perfect for sleeping and there was an extra blanket available in the room for those who needed it.

We have stayed here several times over the past four years while doing ancestry research in Shropshire. This is a classic English B&B with friendly and helpful staff, cozy rooms, great breakfast. Only a ten minute walk to Shrewsbury Town Center.

Hotel is very central.a 5 min walk will have you in the town where you can enjoy lots of shops pubs and places to eat(especially curries). Hotel is very friendly and a lovely breakfast awaits you each morning served by happy staff. Its a basic hotel but clean and the bed was comfy.much needed after a day of walking and shopping. We had a great weekend in Shewsbury.our 1st time there.and we would return to the town and the hotel. Oh and most importantly.there is parking right outside the hotel in its own carpark, that was a must for us when looking for somewhere to stay.
