Score from 516 reviews Very good
reception staff and breakfast staff friendly and accommodating. Location was great and hotel costs competitive for area
bed sheets stained and room could have been cleaner Public areas a bit worn out
Had mice in the room, staff were unresponsive to calls, and found the room not be the cleanest. Had to leave at 1215am to find a new hotel. As lone traveller, my experience made me feel more vulnerable and in need of finding somewhere else to stay. No bedside lamp - only big ceiling light as well. Felt cramped, dark and dirty - looked like scaffolding to front and window by my basement room. Would not recommend for the price. Concerned about kitchen/dining room on same floor as my room with mice.
Burnt my hand on the kettle as it wouldn't turn off. Had to use a towel to lift it to make a cup of tea! Bed sheet did not fit the bed not good when you turn over in night.

Underground train noise at night
The room is small but we accepted for the size from very begining. The room withy shower room and toilet were found kept very clean one of the best of its kind from the same area of Sussex garden.
- room was noisy - shower didn't work well - bed was hard - room was noisy - no elevator, stairs were very steep
Loved the fridge in the room and the fast internet
Being a smoker :( going out side is fine but the reception was supposed to be manned 24hrs a day. On many occasions there was I a sign in the window saying be back in 5mins. Again I understand sometimes it has to be un manned but on 2occasions I waited 15-20 mins out side. And on one of those times the guy came along the road with a bag of shopping went into the hotel from underneath and then unlocked the door. This did spoil my time as I was worried about being locked out and how long would I have to wait in the cold.
One of the cheapest hotels in London. Close to Paddington and in what appears to be a relatively safe area. Only 2 minutes to the tube.
Bed was poor. Breakfast was below average (n.b. it was free). Walls/roof were very thin and I could hear a lot of banging about at night. Room was very small and it was difficult to exit the shower without hitting the sink (...and I am relatively skinny).
Very helpful check in staff. Room was basic but very clean. Good value for money.
The in room internet is very unreliable. There was a fire alarm at 02.00 one morning - reason given was someone smoking in a room. Why shod that set off the full alarm system?
location, Breakfast, comfortable bed
Small room, stairways, sometimes a bit noisy, needs to be Better maintained
Close to Paddington Station
Noisy street Extra small bedroom WiFi not working Breakfast only at 8:30 Bathroom dirty Hairs in the bed Etc etc
Room and clean. Staff friendly
The Hotel manager & his staff where wonderful. Friendly & recommended great places to eat & sights to see, even opened the kitchen early if there was a tour!!!!
Very good position near Paddington station and in a nice zone. Room nice and clean. Very good breakfast. Perfect for a weekend
The help of the Booking.com personell when my reservation was canceled despite it was already paid in full.
.No lift. I was made to go on floor fllor with heavy suitcase I was travelling with my colleague. The bed was too small to accommodate 2 of us. I actually fell down in the night. Its like living in a dungeon. .AC was inefficient. You will sweat if you go in summers. . WIFI sucks. U need to call reception 10 times a day to make it work, For Euro 100.00 it was a totally disappointing experience. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE...
Good location close to paddington with Bakerloo District and Circle lines.
54 stairs to the room.
nice design in the rooms, good quality bathroom, good place, perfect breakfast, just everything you can prepare in such a small place.
rooms are small
Price is good. Location is great. Receptionists are very helpful and hospitable. Breakfast is ok.
One of the staffs is rude and nervous. She must learn so much things from her colleagues.
The location: near Hyde park and the city centre by bus or tube.
The staff: we booked a triple room and we get a tiny double with an extra bed without any explanation or discount.
excellent location so near Paddington underground/overground stations. within walking distance to Hyde Park, and history museums etc if you don't mind a brisk walk accommodation good friendly and helpful staff it catered for all my needs as i am not impressed with a lot of grandeur. excellent restaurants in the area to sample and enjoy good dining experiences overall good value for money
building work in progress but i have to say it didn't interfere with my stay.
Walking distance to Paddington Station for the Tube & Heathrow Express or it's even an easy walk into Central London. Hotel is on a reasonably quiet street close to restaurants, pubs & shops. The staff were very friendly & helpful.
A bit expensive but it's about average for this part of London & the breakfast is very good.
