The Station Hotel is a beautiful Victorian building only a 5-minute walk from the town centre. It still retains many original features, and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking.
Score from 122 reviews Very good
Friendly staff and lovely full breakfast.
Cold during the night and didn't have any heating or extra bedding. Some area's of the room were dusty.
Locality to Railway Station and Town Centre and value including hearty breakfast choice.
location and friendly staff
Dirty laundry was left in the staircase, when we arrived and was still there when we left
Noise from 3 am until 6 am music and loud talking
Bar Function room Heating Breakfast Staff
Walking distance to town, friendly owner, awesome breakfast, spacious room
A bit run down but changing to a guest house
Handy location - easy walk into town, nice bar to get a drink in, good breakfast. Convenient parking.
Central to town
This is not as described, No restaurant, No bar, No longer a hotel, Just B&B, Obviously in decline, Breakfast first day was a joke, tea served with tea bag in cup of water, coffee from machine, Booking.com got this one wrong, please revise listing.
Friendly helpful staff who were very obliging with timings and coming and going. Close to town center, but not on main road so quite at night.
Good value and all the fascilities i wanted. Close to the town centre. Friendly helpful owner and good food.
Nothing, value for money!
I liked everything about the hotel
Very tired property
Location in the middle of town with easy access to pubs etc Breakfast was good Room was clean Friendly and helpful staff
Hotel feels very tired and needs redecorating / modernisation Reception area very untidy - creates impression of neglect / sloppiness when you arrive No evening meals available although advertised on website
hospitality, made most welcome, staff very good & friendly superb breakfast & evening meal. would return to Aberdour if in Dumfries again.
perhaps en suite a bit on small side
Location Good value for price I paid.
Car park a bit tight. Hotel was a bit untidy (poss. staff short )
Good location for reaching town centre. Nice quiet street. Daughter had large bathroom all to herself.
Minor thing. Shower door a bit tricky, but looks like hotel is being upgraded gradually, presumably as funds allow.
Close to town centre.
Staff weren't very friendly. Attic room very stuffy - would have been nice if the window had been left open.
Clean and close proximity to the town centre
Our bedroom is definitely long overdue a make over! The ceiling was covered in black mould n damp stains. I didn't feel overly comfortable staying there! No air con / fans during heat wave.
Good welcome, clean and friendly. Generally staff good but the owner is excellent. As I work anti-social hours I am pleased to have a door key which allows returning late. Its a comfortable very central Dumfries venue and it offers all a worker needs!
Food was good. Friendly casual atmosphere
Inside of electric jug in room had black bits/mould in it.
Huge well cooked breakfast. Clean room and comfy bed. Bar food good choice and well presented. Staff very pleasant.
Bolt-on shower room tired. Hotel needs sprucing up.
Placed in town centre easy walking to explore Dumfries. Good place as a base to travel round Galloway etc.
Maybe a little more deep cleaning of shower room corners and skirtings could be done. Kettles in rooms had to be flushed well before use - full of scale otherwise liked the place.
