Only one hiccup. On departure we were almost charged double what my booking.com confirmation had quoted, but this was swiftly rectified without any fuss so not a major issue.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Aberdour Hotel.
A friendly hotel, providing good accommodation and quality food in the heart of Aberdour.
Our room was clean, with contemporary styling yet retaining character. We overlooked the newer stable rooms at the rear of the hotel and it was lovely and quiet at night.
The bathroom had plenty of piping hot water.
Breakfast was tasty, with good quality produce used. There were lighter cooked options, as well as the full Scottish, cereals and roast on offer. We also had dinner in the hotel and, again, the food was of a high standard. We didn't have lunch, but the menu looks very good value for money and, like the dinner menu, has a good range of dishes to choose from.
All the staff we encountered were friendly, yet professional. A credit to the hotel.
The hotel is well situated for visitors to explore the pretty village, its independent shops and the quaint harbour and two beaches. It is also ideal as a base from which to travel further afield. Aberdour is well served by train and bus, whether you wish to discover other parts of Fife, travel further north up the east coast of Scotland, or visit Edinburgh.
