The former coaching inn was famously used as barracks for General Wade’s troops while building the nearby bridge to cross the River Tay in the 18th century.

Travel information

By Car:
- Follow the A9 (Perth to Inverness) to the A827 Ballinluig junction (20 miles north of Perth).
- Travel 10 miles west to Aberfeldy.
- Continue through the town centre and at the traffic lights turn right, taking the B846.
- Go over Wades Bridge into the village of Weem.
- The hotel is a short distance further on the right, by Castle Menzies.
