We'd had an awful christmas which led to us having to book into a hotel for the last 2 days. As soon as we stepped foot into the place i felt relieved. They were so welcoming and friendly, especially to the dog which is our main priority. If I ever come back to the Isle of Wight the only place I would stay is here. Excellent value for money. It was like a home from home. Thank you Dennis , you made our holiday.
Nothing I didn't like, for the money you get everything you need.
The owner was very nice, received us well. The family room was large and facilities were good
The heating was switched on in the evening for few hours and was switched off most of the night. I did call the owner in the morning and he switched it back on. All our family members could not sleep all the night and had to also get up very early in the morning even though we wore many layers of woolen clothes. There was an exhaust fan setup in the family room which should be temporarily closed during winters so all the cold air does not enter inside. Also the radiators need to be upgraded to provide better heating in future for the room price they expect.
Cosy ,warm room perfect for my stay as a single person. I like room number 8 at the top of the stairs
A good budget hotel
It was good of the owner to have the heating on.
Wifi did not extend to my room not a show stopper by a nuisance
The Breakfast at Weatherspoons
The guy at the desk was very friendly and helpful and the room was spotlessly clean and of a good size.
Some of the rooms face onto a somewhat loud road, not so great if you are a light sleeper.
Met with our expectations. Provided all the facilities we required including parking. Excellent value for money. Close to the town
En suite bathroom old and needing refurbishment. Owner/manager unwelcoming in his manner. No hair dryer in room - borrowed one from owner but lacking attachment, as owner says guests steal them. Located at top of the town away from all amenities in an unattractive area.
Large room, mini fridge, welcoming hostess.
Shower (very basic and small), time taken to get hot water through basin tap.
Comfortable bed Excellent wifi Dennis is kind of a character Expectations met. We could certainly have four a better deal but booked too late
Waited 20 minutes at the reception for someone to check us in (although we turned up in the indicated time window) Hair in the shower (at least three different people) but that's English standard...
Noisy. No breakfast provided
Friendly staff Nice sized room
Rubbish and sock left under bed Mattresses very lumpy and uncomfortable Smell in kitchenette of drains was nasty Shower didn't drain and left water to pour onto floor No breakfast available
Had to request twice for hotel room to be vacuumed, every piece of furniture had stains, internet didn't work in my room, shower took at least 5 minutes to heat up (yet they have a sign regarding not washing towels unnecessarily). This is a shoddy excuse for a place to sleep.
Friendly welcome, clean room, adequate ensuite facilities, close to Ryde town
very friendly owner central based location
small bath room
The owner and staff were super friendly and helpful. Everything is so close you do not need car, we just left the car at the parking space. It's only a 10 minute walk from the port and the beach- The room was quiet and clean and comfortable. Would definately stay here again.everything excellent, we will come back.
The owners were very pleasant and helpfull and made us feel very welcome. The room was comfortable and clean and we slept well. Felt really refreshed after a good nights sleep. The shower was good and plenty hot water. Having a fridge was a brilliant idea. We will definately be booking in again next year Thanks for a lovely stay
There was nothing we didnt like. I think it would be nice though to have some leaflets somewhere about the place so you can plan your days out .
Friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Five mins walk to the hi street.
Wifi connection was poor
Clean room, free wi fi, comfy bed
The parking arrangements
Had a quiet room away from all the others. Prime location for seaffront and shops. Friendly staff, lovely cooked breakfast. Fab static........
Couldn't stay longer, husband had to go to work,
Some of the decor.
Mattresss Parking.. worst in night.. No option for hot breakfast
bed was a bit narrow
Small bed only 4ft wide! no soap or shampoo provided
Price was very reasonable. Close to town, beach and all transport links. Staff were friendly.
The noise from the traffic outside due to it being hot I had to have the windows open all the time. The lodge is situated on a busy road. They didn't have a do not disturb sign which would have been nice so I could have slept in after a late night.
