Thought it was a waste if money the only nice thing was the bathroom, the rooms are just the same as travel lodge
Bathroom, bar area
Location of the hotel is great
The room was extremely small and not worth the top end price we paid. The bathroom drains had a nasty smell and all in all for the money I spent staying at a hotel like the Abode I would expect much better.
Hotel was in a good location Staff very helpful And the food in the restaurant was excellent . Will be returning Thank you
Poor lighting levels in room
Soap - I LOVE the soap at the aBODE, sadly they no longer have the accompany'ing shampoo. It's great getting up and having an invigorating shower with 'fresh' 'zingy' products
The lighting was so dingy in reception that I couldn't see the relevant field titles to fill in my name and address - I apologised and just wrote in what looked like the general location. Subdued lighting in the bedroom is also great when you want it, but it would also be nice to be able to turn it up when you do need light to do things by.
Good bed and shower, good location, champagne bar was very pleasant, easy check in and out and it was ok to leave the car in the on site car park whilst we walked into town for lunch.
Upgrade cost wasn't particularly evident in room quality. We were charged for a drink from the tuck box which we didn't use - although to be fair this was immediately removed when pointed out - smoked salmon and scrambled egg breakfast was nice but very small portion considering the cost.
Have stayed in this hotel a number of times and have been impressed every time
location quietness comfort new
poor room lighting for applying makeup
The location was good, a slick modern hotel with a good "feel" about it. the breakfast was excellent thought at cost - not included in the room rate. We were on a special midweek deal which made it good value for money.Did not try the Michael Caines restaurant - too expensive - but there is a cafe on site which is quite good.
No fridge in our room - poor for a hotel of this standard. No bath in our room - just a shower (a bit fiddly to operate). Again you would think it standard to have a bath in a hotel of this standard.
The Abode Chester is perfect for an evening away from family and friends. I wanted to take my wife away for an evening to relax after a stressful week. The suite I booked was perfect and my wife loved it. We enjoyed pre dinner cocktails before dining in Michael Caines Restaurant for a nice romantic meal. For me it was the perfect get away.
Some of the bathroom fittings seemed to be coming away from the wall
Loved the bed. Very comfy A lovely breakfast with attentive staff
Disappointed in the room. Not value for money. Very basic almost like a travel lodge
It was close to the shops. The hotel parking was ideal. The room was extremely spacious. Facilities in the room excellent.
The noise of the lift but then any hotel room near the lift will always be subject to noise.
Fantastic location , excellent breakfast & staff were very helpful. Room & bathroom were very clean .
Think you are paying for the location . Rooms very clean but quite basic . Parking & breakfast are added extras .
Location was good, bathroom had good fixtures and fittings. Room was cleaned to a good standard.
Bed was small (double) and hard, pillow was very hard. Slept badly. Room was very small, hardly any cupboard space. Overall disappointed for the price.
All the staff were courteous especially Martha from front office. The housekeeping team did there job in the backgroud very well. The food was good...b/f had good spread on the buffet
1) the towel hanger in my room was next to the bathroom door and every time i walked out, i bumped into it in the arm and created a bruse 2) Can increase spread on the menu for b/f
Location Cleanliness Champagne bar Peaceful Bathroom Secure parking Breakfast freshly cooked to order
Bed very soft Expensive ( London prices) Pity car parking was not free. (£10)
A bit pricey and we didn't get the best view as we were facing some offices but in general the hotel is very nice and well located.
Bit pricey and we were facing some offices so the view wasn't nice for the money.
Comfy beds & spacious rooms
Pure luxury,excellent breakfast.
Low reception lighting on check-in made registration tricky, a small lamp would help without spoiling the atmosphere.
Room and bathroom cold Wouldve expected full breakfast for the price. Continental limited
Location Comfy bed Room facilities
Overall, the hotel just needs a good spring clean. It was immaculate when we stayed a few years ago.
The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was delicious!
The room was cold when we first entered and it took us a while to get the right temperature on the heating.
Excellent location very attentive staff, nothing too much trouble for them. The champaign bar was fantastic and the cocktails were amazing.
We found the bed too soft and pillows too hard , but I guess that's personal preference and you can't cater for everyone.
I did request a room with a view, didnt get but they moved us no hassle after requesting! Stunning view, beautiful rooms, and huge bed! Parking was great, as was the loaction, short easy walk into the town, taxi was £4 as it was raining in the evening. just totally loved the stay!
Great location, clean and comfortable, stylish with a feel of quality.
The barman in the Bar / lounge needs to refine his cocktail repertoire! He was a nice young man but the Mojitos were disappointing. We know about these things as we're connoisseurs in such matters.
