With the Isle of Man’s only licensed casino, Best Western Palace Hotel is centrally located on the beautiful Victorian Promenade overlooking Douglas Bay and just metres from the beach.
Score from 420 reviews Good
The Falcons Nest is in the centre of Port Erin, on the south-west coast of the Isle of Man. The restaurant and bar overlook a beautiful, sheltered, sandy harbour and beach.
Score from 221 reviews Very good
The breakfasts were really superb. Excellent service. They couldn't do enough for you. This was a 10/10+. The room was nicely decorated, and apart from litter in the bin on day 1, it was clean. This place was also right on the sea-front, with lovely views whilst eating breakfast. The tea/coffee in the room was also well stocked every day. The bed was also very comfy, with good quality linen.
We were on the top floor - it was a very long way up steep stairs. No lift. The room was actually quite tiny. I don't know what a "boutique hotel" is supposed to be, but this was a straightforward seafront B&B. Because of the title we expected a lot more from it than it turned out to be.
The nice friendly and helpful staff very good breakfast prompt attention to requests Superb evening meal lovely sea view from our room
No Lift --my husband was not well chest infection reduced our abilit to return to the room which was on the 4th floor ( 50 steps to climb) No safe for valuables in the room the shower over the bath was not as effective as we would have liked
To receive an upgrade to or room made the holiday special. Breakfast excellent and also two evening meals in the Manila restaurant we had.
The staff could not be faulted.
THE CLIMB NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
We booked the suite which is large and comfortable with nice sea views.
Our room had not been serviced when we returned at 3.30pm, when it was serviced they were mean with tea and coffee. At breakfast they had run out of basic items such as orange juice and marmalade.
very nice room with good size bathroom ,the breakfast was excellent
we were on the top floor but we coped
location, breakfast and room
too many stairs up to room 10
lovley breakfast ,friendly staff
location a bit from the centre
Beautiful location, quiet but easy to travel around. Food was very good and staff most kind and helpful. Liked the big bedroom and bathroom, and constant hot water.
40 stairs to climb --- no lift. No sitting room for guests to sit in on rainy days and a few books and papers would have been nice
Very friendly staff everyone helpful. Breakfast great could not fault anything we enjoyed our 3 night stay and will return, and recommend to our friends
Thought the sign for hotel could be a bit bigger as we walked passed,
From reception to restaurant staff were ultra-friendly and professional. Especially manager James, and the lovely breakfast waiter girls! We also found the Thai restaurant (evening) to be outstanding (bonafide Thai chefs producing amazing product). We will definitely return soon! VBR, John Clark (& Elizabeth), France
Breakfast was delicious & wifi good throughout. Bed comfortable. Bathroom clean. Good value for money.
Bed leg broken (fixed ourselves with a mug). Tiles missing in bathroom. Toilet seat not secure. Only 1 towell replaced but there were two of us! More attention to detail for the little things needed. Brochures left in room some were 2 years old!
friendly and helpful staff and the food was exceptional
our room (11) was very small
Room was lovely and large with a great bed
Need a small fridge in the room as you provide water not nice when it is warm and the wifi did not work
great breakfast and service. superb room .
Location was excellent, a nice walking distance to centre of town, tram stop outside door if referred, quite at night even though hotel is located on the street. Our room (1st floor suite) was very dense ours in size and the bed was enormous, a strange door configuration to the bathroom but sorted that by wedging the swing door open. Breakfast was average but adequate
Breakfast and staff were good
Room was too small and too hot. Wifi didn't work.
Room was lovely and clean, we were upgraded to sea view on arrival - that was a bonus. Staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. Breakfast's lovely & plenty of it. Evening meals good too if you like Thai food.
NO lift. Bit of a bummer if you're staying for a while & have heavy bags. Bathroom was a little tired & the shower took forever to balance the temperature, so resorted to having a bath, it was quicker! Otherwise nothing that would prevent me from returning or recommending!
Clean, friendly, right opposite bus stop. Fair for the price. Lovely Thai restaurant.
Not a boutique hotel. Nice B&B. Upstairs windows need a clean.
Rooms small but well equipped and exceptionally clean. Thai restaurant is fantastic, breakfast excellent.
Nothing. Will book again.
Location of hotel, style and size of room
Wi-fi was very poor
Staff were excellent and the food and service at the Thai Restaurant was also excellent, fully recommend this. Room wasn't anything but special but it was very comfortable and very clean.
Attached thai restaurant was very good
As the Only thai restaurant on the island i would suggest you book your evening meal before you arrive
We had a good size room with a good view. Generally the breakfasts were very good, only the first day did we have a questionable scrambled egg. havent tried the restaurant but know from family who live on the island that it is well regarded.
Best to shop around for deals, at £70 per night it is viable but when they apply peak rates of £130 per night we dont think it is good enough to justify "boutique" label. Bathroom needs upgrading on all rooms and needs a heated towel rail, didnt have a change of towels one day. Also having to phone ahead to get them to pop in and open the reception isnt on when youve travelled a long way, it isnt a part time job and we came in May which should be start of season. Staff obliging including young man from Kilbride and young Thai lady.
