A hotel of just the right size ,not too big and not too small, a comfortable size, friendly and well located, 5 mins walk to town centre
Cost of bar drinks
I will choose this hotel when I visit Pitlochry next year. Everything was good.
Would have liked to be able to buy some food when I arrived mid afternoon, but not a big problem as plenty places nearby. I'll know next year
The mini bar closed to early. When we came back from our trip to the enchanted Forrest the bar was only open for 20 mins. We wanted to sit and relax for a while but we couldn't. We booked the hotel based on it having a lounge bar.
Can't understand why this hotel gets such good reviews! On arrival we were given key to room 1 which was dismal and dingy also bathroom fan made a horrible screeching noise when light was switched on. Got the impression we had been put into that room as we had booked a cheap deal through booking.com. The hotel as far as we could tell had very few people staying so why give a bad impression by giving the poorest room! To be fair we did complain and were then given a nicer fresher room at other end of hotel. Didn't eat in hotel as we had lost confidence in it and didn't want to risk disappointment again!
The breakfast and dining area was lovely and very modern. Room was clean with a nice big bed.
Shower room had a few damp patches.
The fact that,on arrival, the staff were as welcoming as the glowing fireplace in the lounge ,just off reception, which even with the recent mild weather , gave a homely feeling about the hotel. The staff ,although small in number were always willing to forward any information they could although busy with hotel duties .Myself and my husband were with our daughter, son in law,a lively two year girl and infant boy.We used the hotels steakhouse the both nights and thoroughly enjoyed our meals from a varied menu. The concensious of opinion being' When can we come back.
Nothing we can think off.
An excellent stay whilst visiting Pitlochry
Friendly efficient staff. Comfortable beds with clean warm rooms.
Scrambled eggs of cooked breakfast could have been hotter. Otherwise perfectly acceptable.
easy walking distance to town
steak house and bar were pricey
Clean , quiet, good food
The food was fabulous and the lounge areas tastefully laid out and comfortable.
Couldn't fault this hotel. Rooms were a good size (we had a family room for 3), modern and very clean. Lovely bar area, very cosy. Definitely go back.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful, very personal service and nothing was too much trouble Food was top notch, the famous steakhouse definitely gets my seal of approval A very nice town, people came across as very friendly, and the scenery was stunning, would certainly choose this hotel again if I ever come up to Pitlochry again!
Not an ideal town if you don't drive, as only one taxi service in the area, fine if you don't mind walking, no complaints regards the hotel, FIRST CLASS!!!
Nice rooms and plenty parking. Staff very helpful and prepared food for us out with serving times so means a lot with kids!
Hotel is attractive inside, bit of a mishmash from the outside. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food very good. Grounds well kept and fine for short dog exercises.
We liked the fact that the hotel was very central in location, close to all main attractions. On arrival, staff were friendly and welcoming.
We were disappointed with some aspects of the room. This included the fact that our bathroom door had a very unstable lock that didn't work. The windows looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in months with cobwebs clearly noticeable. They were also very difficult to open and shut. Our towels seemed to have a very unpleasant Oder to them.
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff and excellent food in restaurant
Comfortable room, quiet, good food. Friendly staff. Ideal location.
Had booked a family room and when checked in it had been taken. Was given 1double room and 1 twin bed room instead at same price.
Hotel very easy to find. Easy stroll to town centre. Numerous walks and activities to take part in. Highly recommend the visit to Edradour Distillery. Breakfast in hotel very pleasant. Good selection.
Trains going past which do keep you awake. Not sure it's best value for money.
Cleanliness and friendliness of staff
We would have liked some sort of curtain partitioning between bedding area and tv area in room.We have a young child and was all a bit too open plan for him getting off to sleep whilst we watched tv.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Easy walk into town for food and drinks. Scenery in surrounding area breathtaking.
The place is beautiful
Comfortable room and excellent service
