Ease of booking and staff welcome was excellent.
Was woken at about 7.30 by what sounded like someone removing the sink in the next room!
We did a lot if travelling around London for a couple of days and this location was a great base. Borough tube station in the northern line is just a few mins away and you can also catch the 21 bus almost outside the hotel, which will take you right over to London bridge. Staff were really helpful and friendly rooms and bathroom super clean and bed was very comfy. I would highly recommend.
I didn't have any criticisms at all but just be aware that the rooms are small as this is a budget hotel but absolutely worth the money with the cleanliness and location. Also in case you have these as a must on your hotel list - there is no breakfast facility and no obvious elevator up to the rooms - I did not ask if they had an elevator for use and I am sure they probably do but it may be worth checking. No bar or restaurant but plenty nearby.
Excellent location , excellent hotel and excellent staff
Excellent staff, location, bathroom, wireless internet.
Needs better ventilation during summer.
The staff were very friendly and helpful . We had help carrying bags and an iron and board was brought to the room. The person declined a tip and said wAs not necessary . The rooms were very clean and comfy . The location was great and was quiet . Would deginately stay again .
Only the plastic milk but a minor detail and same in most hotels
Room had everything you need Excellent location Very clean and comfortable Lovely staff
Small but well equipped room. Very good value for a short stop over
convenient, from north direction,
friendly staff and clean bathrooms
very small single room with limited floor space. The room was unbearably hot and the small fan that I was given was completely inadequate
Not enogh space in the room
It was clean, had what we needed, the staff were friendly and helpful, only a short walk from the tube station and a short journey into London. Would stay again.
parking in front free of charge, free WIFI,
no elevator, no breakfast, noisy street
The location was very convenient for traveling. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean. There is a shop next door to get an Oyster card to travel which was very convenient. The Roebuck up the street had very good food and was a nice place to socialize. The Great Dover pub further up the street was a good smaller pub.
The wi-fi was good the first few days and almost entirely unreliable the last few days. TV was very small.
Clean, comfortable, well appointed room with an excellent bathroom. Convenient for Borough Market and Tate Modern. Reasonably priced by London standards.
No air conditioning and a very noisy road outside (we were there during the heat wave!). No breakfast facilities ( but Borough Market is 10 min walk away). I guess parking would be difficult.
As a group of 3, I had booked a room with 3 single beds with an ensuite. What we received instead, and I'm not sure how, was an apartment that had 2 bedrooms with a double bed each, a lounge / kitchen area with a double sofa bed and a bathroom. The kitchen area had a stove, oven, kettle, toaster, small fridge, eating and drinking utensils and a washing machine. Each of the rooms had a wall mounted TV too. Getting such a wonder accommodation was a very pleasant surprise. The cleaners would come around every second or third day to change bedding and towels, and take out the rubbish. My friends and I weren't accustomed to the very frequent room service, but was very much appreciated. Very close by was a fried chicken outlet, and convenience store and a grocery store. We were able to buy food and drinks very easily and bring them back into the apartment. Getting to the tube station was about a 5 minute walk away which then gives you very easy access to the entire city. If I were to come back to London, I would definitely like to stay in the same place. If you have a group of friends, ask if an apartment (I think they have 2) is available. Having a good place to stay and sleep makes the difference on your holiday.
The apartment we were in wasn't actually part of the same hotel building. It was around the corner (past a fried chicken outlet, and a convenience store) and across the street. Due to the distance away from the main hotel, the wifi connectivity was very poor, at times only getting 1 out of 4 signal strength on our phones and tablets. The bathroom is very small in comparison to our normal living back home, but its still a bathroom in the end and it does the job. 1 small gripe I had was that any steam from the shower would build up as there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Being summer during our visit, this was a small issue, but during winter would be fine.
The whole place was clean and looked quite new, the room was very quiet - couldn't hear any outside noise at all (apart from other guests in the corridor). This was my second stay and I would happily stay there again.
To say the room was small is an understatement!
A tiny single room - half of which was en-suite - was laid out thoughtfully. Very cute ^_^
Broadband service was very poor. This was a thoughtless oversight. When I raised this after my first night, the reception staff asked me "What do you suggest?" I suggested they speak with their comms contractor ;) I could have told them how to sort it out, but since I was a paying guest and not being paid etc etc LoL... On checking out I was told the entire building, some 35 rooms, was sharing a single BB line. However, their comms contractor was installing 6 more BB lines this week. If I was running this operation, I would have checked on sufficient BB provision. It's like water in a bathroom: it has to be there for an accommodation to be functional in 2014.
Room was clean and a very comfortable bed.
The room was extremely small just basically fit a double bed and small wardrobe in it. The bathroom was a wet room with a shower there was no bath. there were soap and shampoo dispensers on the walls no complementary soap or toothpaste were provided. Didnt think it's met the basics standards and was not worth the money.
Very helpful staff, very close to everything, immaculately clean
Room was extremely hot! No heating on, all windows open and I still reckon you could boil an egg on the window sill
Good and basic comforts just what the business traveller on a budget needs. It was clean and bright and the staff very welcoming. Located near tube station and points of interest in the Southwark area. Excellent local pubs and quirky restaurants nearby (if you look for them)
Easy reach of transport
Everything was ok
Good value for money, clean, nicely decorated. Bed was comfy, staff friendly, good location for tube. No hassle, rooms next door were quiet.
Rather warm, small room - not much space to move around, shower wasn't so powerful but did job. Street rooms were rather noisy.
Location, price and cleanliness of room, bathroom was a very good size and well equipped.
Room is so tiny and tv so small not easily seen from the bed.
Staff were very helpful and informative. Location is not bad as bus stop is not far away. Also it is fairly distant to important areas like Tower area and Picadelly circus.
The visibility of the hotel entrance after its relocation. As the hotel name was not specially highlighted(obviously at the time when I visited ,last day of May 2014),it does not attract the attention of the passerby. It was difficult to locate the hotel though it is located on the side of a fairly busy road. There seems to be a high chance of overlooking the hotel entrance.
