Friendly and efficient staff upon arrival, our room was clean and spacious with a big comfy bed. The later checkout of 12 appealed when I was looking to book as I new we would want a lie in after a late night! I would use this hotel again or other locations and would happily recommend to a friend.

We were in London as Marathon runners & this is our second stay here. The hotel has an excellent location in Southwark mid way between the marathon start & finish & nearby London Bridge station. There are good facilities nearby (shops & restaurants, Tate Modern etc) & it provides excellent friendly service. Can be expensive. We secured a discounted deal via Booking.com @ £150 / night. The rack rate is twice this amount and the hotel isn't worth £300/night. Front facing rooms can be noisy during the week but ok at weekends. Back rooms face a building site !

Very professional staff and excellent breakfast choices. The hotel is well positioned for cultural visits to St Pauls and The City, to both Tate galleries, the Jerwood Space, the Globe, Greenwich for the Observatory etc, the South Bank for music or theatre. Borough Markets are fantastic and just on the doorstep.Great access to Thames clippers - the best way to travel around London if you want to be near the river. Lots of good places to eat nearby and plenty of good beers and wines to be had. Suited our purposes very well - a party at the Jerwood, dinner at Vinopolis, and a range of visits to museums, galleries, exhibitions. Rooms a bit small and only one chair - but we really only wanted a place to sleep so fine for that.

For the price we paid the hotel was excellent, clean comfy and very helpful and friendly staff. It was very central, we were five minutes from Borough market and the river and literally moments from the nearest restaurant and cafe's, a great place to stay.

Breakfasts - excellent. Reception staff helpful and well informed (including the use of Oyster Cards) Nice thought to congratulate my companion on her birthday, 19th Feb. The Standard Room (MY choice when booking) is surprisingly small, as is the bathroom! OK for a couple of nights but not for a longer stay. Could not understand why the extractor fan in the bathroom appeared be operated from 06.15 hrs (disturbing at that hour) and made to run continuously, whether the bathroom was utilised, or not. And similarly later in the day and early evening..........Not, as I understand, its normal function in life.

The location was perfect, just a stone throw away from Covent gardens, Kennsington and Oxford street. Th restruant and bar was trendy and relaxed, the hotel receptionist were more than helpful also. We weren't aware about having to pay £20 a day for their carpark, this was the only downfall.

The rooms were clean and all the facilities quoted were provided. The location was exactly what we needed. The room on floor 5 faced directly onot some extensive building works and as we were away for a weekend break celebrating my birthday we had planned lazy morning starts which we certainly didnt get, despite shut windows the noise was at such a level even the room tv couldnt drown out the noise. Works were every day before 8am including Sunday. The upgraded toiletries were cheap imports from Asia so the claim for the privilege room didnt apply. The trainee who booked us in had no local knowledge and I only gained a map as I overheard other guests being offered them. They also were told they could pay for any extras such as room service and the mini bar as they went through their stay whereas we were told we had to pay £150 on a credit card to open the account despite having paid for our room in full weeks before our stay. As an Police employee the trust didnt extend to us - why are guests treated differently??

Hotel reception staff were very friendly. £11 for 2 drinks in the hotel bar and the bar staff were very rude. Didn't smile and hardly spoke. Not the kind of service you expect from a 4* hotel. We ordered room service and the food took 45 mins, just for 2 sandwichs, and then a member of staff had to knock twice to confirm our order and then STILL got it wrong! They offered to replace which they did and it took a further 1/2 hour to receive the food. The chips were stone cold and they only bought 1 drink up and the other one 30 mins later and then he had the nerve to stand there for a tip!!!!! Not impressed at all that I had to pay £29 for this service.

The hotel was just as I expected - clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and checking in and out was efficient. My room was very comfortable and spacious. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a city stay as it is ideally located near the south bank of the Thames and London Bridge Station is only a short walk away.

The room was average size and the bathroom not particularly big but will do four you just need somewhere to sleep. Room service options are very limited in the evening and we found that we needed to go out to find food because of these limited options. Poor room service options
