Mercure London Bankside

It was conveniently placed for my purpose in London - ie to visit my family who lived around the corner.

The shower would not turn off after each use and the staff could not remedy it. We were rebated £20 that we had agreed to pay for an upgrade but in hindsight we feel this did not adequately compensate us for the inconvenience caused. I would have liked to have been offered a special deal or discount (e.g.50%) for a future stay there, but it was not forthcoming at the time of departure.

Peaceful room,relaxing atmosphere.Prime location.

Loft restaurant atmosphere not as 'hip' as advertised. (Still felt like a quiet hotel restaurant despite reviews stating otherwise).Food and wine however were excellent.

Staff was very friendly and helpful!

quite expensive for what the hotel has to offer but i think your paying for the location of the hotel rather than the quality.

The Room was tiny and you could barely fit into the Bathroom and I am a very petite lady! I do not think the rooms are 4 star

The room was well appointed, cleaned properly, and the breakfast buffet was of good quality and efficiently organised. The hotel was in an excellent location for visiting London.

Clean room; the hotel was recently refurbished and all furniture and facilities were new. Breakfast despite called "continental" was very much like "Full English breakfast" - with beans, fried tomatoes and mushrooms, etc. Nice area - close to Tate Modern and the embankment, directly opposite St. Paul's which is accessible via a pedestrian bridge.

The window was broken and did not close, safe did not work. This was fixed only on the second day of our stay after asking the staff three times. The receptionist wanted to charge us for a pair of slippers which were not provided in the room. Quite far from the Underground station (which was under maintenance on weekend) - approx. 10 min walk. TV channel selection could be better.

Clean rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff, excellent location and good value for the money.

Internet not included in the room price, for a 4 star hotel it is inadmissible. The price was also outrageous, 10 pounds / 24h and it would disconnect quite often. If you forgot your toothpaste or razor blades you'd also have to pay an insane fee to get them from the hotel. Better shop around...

Excellent location in a clean environment right behind Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Reletively new hotel with tidy interiors. Multilingual staff. Superb full English + continental breakfast. Large rooms with a widescreen flat-TV. Internet computer available in the hall.

Internet in the rooms was not free of charge.

The stay in general was perfect for my stay in London, great location, very friendly and helpful staff.

The location was very convenient to the Southbank area and along with some well organised parking system which was a plus
