Friendly couple. Very clean. Nice shower. Close to town. Quiet part of town.
No option for breakfast.
Very friendly owner. Luxurious interior. Long (late) check-in for a guest house.
WLAN was turned on during the night resulting in unnecessary microwave e-smog impairing sleep etc.
John and Linda are wonderful people and host! The room was perfect from the bed to the bathroom! Quiet and right across from the park close to town centre..
I couldn't stay longer!
modern facilities, great host
lack of breakfast, difficult to find without directions
Nice big bed and super clean room with great bathroom.
It is located in a quit area next to the main park of Perth just 15 minutes walking distance to the centre. It has a fancy jacuzzi shower with radio. Bed linen was clean. They left us home made cake (nice) but it was hard, so probably not very recently made (not very nice).
The place was not spotless, we could see several cobwebs and a couple of spiders on the ceiling. the shower mat had not been washed for some time. After having stayed in other places throughout Scotland I can say that the price should include breakfast. Perth is nothing spectacular anyway.
Would prefer breakfast to be available
Linda and John are friendly, wonderful hosts, a big surprise was Linda's home made cake, wish you the best, B and E.
We really loved Linda's house and her hospitality, this accommodation was far better than any other we stayed in. The room was bright and nice, very clean and tidy, and the bathroom had an awesome shower! Linda really pays attention to the smallest details, like the cake and coffee and tea facilities, or the hair dryer and the curling iron. We really recommend this house!
The kettle was a bit old and maybe had a leak at the bottom.
Linda and John lovely couple made up feel at home lovely guesthouse very modern and warm
Beautifully clean Comfortable All necessities provided - hair drier etc Owners helpful Off-street parking Quiet area with nice outloook
Upstairs - could be problem for mature folk Not easy walking distance to restaurants etc.
We were welcomed as soon as we arrived by John and then shown to our room which was great, stylish fittings shower with multi jets solid wood floors and doors. Looked very boutique style. We were greeted on the night by Linda and John and they invited us for drinks with them which we accepted and was made very very welcome. They have a great stylish business and we could not finger anything to complain about for sure. We saw a bad review which I would take no notice of because this guest house is superb and value for money.
Nothing at all superb
Everything wasn't a problem lovely couple made you right at home
Owners friendliness , room facilities , home cooking , near town centre .
Parking area .
Location was good. Lovely to get home made shortbread in with your tea and coffee. John made us feel at home
Not serving breakfast.
We had a wonderful welcome from John and Linda, the room was very comfortable. Loved the modern decoration. Its ideally positioned for a walk into town over the lovely park. The strawberrys and shortbread were a welcome surprise in the room after a long drive. They even recommend a great pub for a drink. Highly recommended.
Nothing to dislike
On the positives, the room was clean, wifi connection was good, and room was nice. Unfortunately, we feel that doesn't make up for the poor experience we had there.
An incident with the wife at Acer Guest House made our stay extremely uncomfortable. We had made a mistake and were under the impression that the kitchen was for guest use. It wasn't until we were looking for cooking utensils in the kitchen and were told by the husband that it wasn't for guest use. We felt very awful and apologised and were happy to pack up our food and buy dinner out, but John was ever so kind and said we could use the kitchen for that night only. 10 minutes later when we were dishing up, his wife entered the kitchen complaining about the smell of the food. We were a little confused as it was a simple packet stir fry which smelt quite mild. She then began to yell at us saying "Bad! Bad!" waving her arms around. She then continued to ignore us when we tried to reconcile the situation, and we offered to eat dinner outside if the smell offended her, with her only response being, "I would throw it out!" before exiting the room. We were extremely confused and felt the reaction was very un-necessary. I can't say whether this reaction was due to poor communication between husband and wife but it seemed she was well aware that we were cooking and had been told we were allowed to as she didn't question what we were doing in the kitchen. It certainly made for a very unwelcoming and uncomfortable stay for us. The very next evening, the husband even approached us asking for payment, which we had already made full payment for both nights when we had arrived. The level of customer service at Acer guest house is very poor. After the incident we did not receive any apologies or anything following the outburst. It has made our stay at Acer a very disappointing one as we were really looking forward to it. I just hope they don't treat other customers that way. It's not until now, at a closer look of past reviews that it seems other customers have also experienced this kind of treatment.
Quiet location, walking distance from town centre. Very clean room with en-suite with towels, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided. Tea and coffee making facilities with home made shortbread provided. Overall a lovely stay and are returning next week, would highly recommend as a place to stay.
Lovely location looking out over the South Inch, and a simple walk across that huge park brings you into the center of Perth. John is very gregarious, most helpful, and justifiably proud of all the work he has put into the house. Even the fact that there is no breakfast included was not a problem for us, since we were on the road for nearly two weeks by that point, and Scottish breakfasts can get to be a bit much after a while!
Nothing at all -- strongly recomend.
friendly host, good bed
rooms were not wiped, not to mention vacuum-cleaned...
John and linda made us feel very welcome and are very friendly hosts. If there was a downside it would be that no breakfast was available however we knew this before we booked
Friendly welcome with fresh home made shortbread in the rooms was a lovely touch.... the extra carrot cake and mars bar cake was just exceptional
The stay was really comfortable and the landlord was happy to help you with everything you need.
Fabulous owner, had time to talk and give advice about where to go.
Everything was good
Comfortable bed Very tasty homemade shortbread left in the room with tea and coffee facilities - herbel teas available
Needed to pay with cash No breakfast available
