This is the best we've stayed in so far on our travels. Karen is an excellent host, providing parking permit on arrival and maps and directions to the town centre only 5 - 10 min walk away. In the room she has provided a folder with information for local attractions and eateries. The rooms are immaculate and tastefully decorated. Karen has provided coffee & flavored teas and all essential and quality bathroom soaps/ shampoos. The towels are good quality & soft and bed very comfortable with quality linen. Good selection of breakfast options and well cooked. There is nothing else we could have needed and felt right at home. Just wish we could have stayed longer. Would not hesitate to recommend this guest house.

Excellent room, immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. Food was superb and nothing was to much trouble, the owner was friendly and more than helpful. Only a 10 - 15 min walk in to York. Just perfect. We will be back.

Beautifully decorated room and ensuite and well maintained. Friendly staff and tasty breakfast, made with quality ingredients. 100% recommend. With an approx 10-15 min walk to City centre. It was a plus point that we didn't have to pay for a car park (on street parking over looked by the guest house). We had a lovely break. With thanks to all Acer staff.

Excellent and high quality breakfast. Stainless toilet ,spacious and comfortable room. Very nice and diligent staff . Highly recommended. The city is within walking distance We stayed in the top floor, long stairs were quite a problem for us to carry heavy luggage.

Very friendly, attentive owner, with excellent knowledge of the area. Extensive pack of information about local places of interest and tourist attractions. Good access to both the centre of York and racecourse. Nice rooms with some lovely touches and excellent breakfast.

Very friendly owner, Karen....comfortable bed, free wi-fi, free parking, excellent breakfast. Nice touch having the wine in the room available for purchase together with snacks. Lovely little guest house & only a 15 minute walk into town.

Excellantly run family guest house, the owner Karen could not be more helpfull, our room was spotless, breakfast was excelant with wide range of choice. Location was just outside city walls so easy access to all of York's attractions. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Acer and would recommend this guest house for a stay in York.

Het betreft een erg luxe vorm van B&B. Je verblijft in een voormalig woonhuis in een woonwijk op loopafstand, tien minuten van de zuidwestelijke stadspoort. York is authentiek en heeft een perfecte schaal voor een kort (1 daags) bezoek. Parkeren was tijdens ons verblijf (anderhalve dag) mogelijk en gratis bij het Acer Guest house.

We spent two nights at Acer and would definitely recommend to our friends. We love everything about it, the decor, furniture, breakfast and Karen. Acer is not the most expensive place we stayed during our 10-day trip in UK, but definitely the best.

The B&B's owner - Karen is really nice and helpful, her breakfast is really good. The breakfast is made on demand, so you can always have the hot and fresh breakfast. The room is clean and warm. The four posters bed is really comfortable. The location is a bit distance from the city centre and located in the quiet residential area. Would not be very convenient to the non-driving travellers.

The house had lots of character and was nicely decorated and a good use of space. The owner was friendly and helpfull and breakfast was lovely. It was in a lovely area of York and close to the train station and race course was about 30 mins walk into city centre which was further than we originally thought. The room was warm and comfortable. The double bed seemed small and I would have liked a bath in en suite.
