We particularly enjoyed the excellent breakfast - fresh fruit salad, and the home made jam and marmalade were delicious. It was posiible to park our car outside our room which for us is a real plus when lugging heavy suitcases around. Some people may find the room decor a little dated but the bedroom and ensuite were very spacious and spotlessly clean and the breakfast room/conservatory was charming. We feel that this Bed and Breakfast hotel is great value for money and we enjoyed our stay.

Very nice older facility, almost historic as it was pointed out to us that a certain area in the hotel lobby had been used as a stable in the past. The breakfast was excellent and the operators were very efficient, very pleasant and friendly.

Actually nothing was good at this horrible guesthouse. The only good thing was the location, a few km of Strathpfeffer. A nightmare, that's how we would describe this guesthouse. Extremely unfriendly people. After a small disagreement at our arrival regarding the charges for the room and the way of payment (there vwas a credit card surcharge on out payment) I decided to pay in cash. Payment had to be in advance which I found very strange and unwelcoming. No proper receipt of payment was given to us. Even worse, after we had paid (in cash) the owner of the guesthouse started to insult and shout and she actually summoned us to leave the premisses. Which we refused of course. Owner continued shouted at us (and I really mean shouting). Her husband arrived, I thought he would calm down his wife, but on the contrary he made things worse by threatening to throw our suitcases out in the street. It was the daugther of the family who intervened and eventually calmed down her father. We managed to reach our room that we had paid for already. There another shouting by the owner started, in which we were told that if any damage would incur to the room that would be credited on my credit card. We were totally shocked. I have never had such a bad, unfriendly and hostile reception in a hotel. We decided not to take any breakfast next morning and left as soon as possible. Totally unprofessional behaviour of these hotel people.I would not recommend this guesthouse to anyone.

Friendly welcome and excellent breakfast. Convenient for a night stop but is six miles from the nearest eatery so you have to drive to dinner there and back which after a long day's drive is not good for the driver to relax etc.. Beds were not all that comfortable.

The inn is quite luxurious - furniture, decor, building itself. Elder couple tending to inn is sweet and helpful. And - out of 12 hotels we visited during our journey through Scotland/England, this one definitely had the best breakfast! A bit damp, maybe weather had something to do with it. Another thing - it's a roadside inn, so if you're a light sleeper you might not get a good rest.
