Cleanliness. View of mountains from dining room
Being "told" to present for breakfast at 8h00 along with the other 7 guests and then in addition to having to wait for poorly cooked breakfast, having to queue for the single toaster and the single milk jug. Tinned fruit (peaches) and jams etc in sachets did not give a "farm breakfast" experience.
This is a charming farmhouse run by Neil, a friendly and warm host. The rooms were spotless and the view of the mountains from the window was simply breathtaking. A sumptuous breakfast included homemade sausages and homemade whisky marmalade. Add to it a menagerie of animals, including a friendly dog and assorted chickens and sheep made for a very relaxing stay. Will book again next time I am in the area.
Very friendly proprietor. Good location in relation to mountains (I was there to climb) and evening eating places. Easy to find. Nice breakfast. Excellent mountain views.
Not en suite, but this would have been difficult given the nature of the building.
Great breakfast. Rooms and bathroom are very clean. Friendly owner.
Car is needed to enjoy the city and mountains. No en-suite room.
Location nearer to Nevis Range
We arrived late in the afternoon and the owner booked a table for us in a local restaurant! The guest house was very clean, smelled lovely and the breakfasts were very good. Neil was very helpful about ft he area and the best routes to travel. We had a really good time there :)
hospitality tray, mint on towel, clean, available nightcap, comfortable bed, dog friendly, lovely views
For price, and comparing it to the b&bs we stayed in later in our holiday, it wasn,t good value. No ensuite and a strict breakfast time (8-8.15), made me thankful for the sink in the room. Sorry don,t do shared showers, but my fault for not checking, expected 3* to be totally ensuite. Used my own towel for fear I would get make-up on it and be charged for it: I'm pretty sure replacement towels are legitimate business expenses. Taking off your shoes when surely you could just check your soles! Being expected to leave detailed card info on sheet in hall for all to see. We were aware that the host was a widow, we felt he was just trying to manage best he could, but from previous reviews it seems that these issues arise again and again to no avail, so it is probably useless to tell him to lighten up a bit. However others seem very happy with this accommodation, it is after all entirely subjective.
Very friendly host couldn't do enough for me,booked me a meal in spean bridge and gave me a lift down
Friendly host who gave us good advice for our sightseeing, beautiful surroundings, great breakfast and a comfortable large room with large enough TV
The fact that we had to share a small bathroom and separate toilet with two other couples
nice rooms, plenty of space with 3 travelling, Neil very helpful
Need a car, little outof the way
Location was beautiful, mountain views. Very good host and very good breakfast.
No room for cases in room, no seat in room. Maybe our room was smaller than the others.Toilet needs to be enlarged.
Convenient to my requirements as stop-over for End to End cycle ride.
Didn't feel as welcome as I would normally expect.
You can drink whisky outside in the moonlight
the countryside view is fantastic.really good place yo escape from city. lovely dog,and beautiful garden.
excellent breakfast and great marmalade to buy (not to mention the fudge)
Very confortable, very friendly people. I really recomend! We have talked for one hour and I could have many tourist information.
Everything met expectations the owner was a lovely person. Would book again if in area .
Very welcoming Host. Excellent breakfast.
Excellent host, excellent house, excellent view, motorcyclist friendly.
Great views across to mountains and felt safe as long way from main road
Too remote to walk anywhere in the evening - but luckily the owner gave me a lift and back to Spean Bridge for dinner as I arrived on a bicycle.
The friendliness and informative host
The squeaky bed however our host moved us to another room which had a good bed
The owner was incredibly accomodating and generous. The facilities were more than adequate for our needs
It was a fantastic few days and id go there again and recommend it to friends
I loved waking up to open my curtains and see the nevis range I also liked neils cooking my room was immaculate and my dog was welcome
The Cockrell woke me up before my alarm went off
The position of the accommodation. The breakfast was very good.
Having to share a bathroom The approach road to Achnaboban was in danger of causing damage to the car.
