Great things: - room (size, comfort, equipment) - breakfast - Janet!
It was rather cold at times.
I stayed in room 6 , it was glorious. Great decor, spacious and luxurious. It was spotlessly clean. Every little detail catered for. Fabulous. Breakfast efficient, good selection and vegetarian and gluten free well catered for. Friendly hosts and staff. A real gem! So good I booked to stay again !
Only minor issue was I lost wifi in the evening , not the end of the world! Next day the owners re set router and all sorted.
Good location on the main Beverley Road out of Hull Excellent breakfast Rooms well stocked with towels, toiletries, tea / coffee etc Janet, the owner, very friendly
My room, 4, had a peculiar smell, although everything was very clean Décor is a little dated
Excellent Breakfast and local amenities. good range of complimentary items.
Road noise through the night. Room temperature too cold on arrival.
Very comfortable stay. Janet very helpful and friendly. Great cooked breakfast
Janet very kind and helpful, and generous!! Very comfy bed, good water pressure on shower, nice to have en suit.
Wi fi connection only two days out of seven, but unsure what the owner could do to improve that.
Janet made us feel extremely welcome, comfortable bed, clean room and bathroom.
Nothing to dislike.
the bed.the breakfast,the house, the staff ,
nothing.only the acorn sign may be bigger .ive been past it maybe 1oo times and never seen it
Very Good Breakfast and plenty of variety.
Good location, massive room, super breakfast
Lovely very well equipped room which had a microwave, tea-making facilities and balcony looking onto the extensive garden. Very helpful hosts.
Not overly keen on memory foam matresses, although slept well on it.
The guesthouse was beautifully and tastefully decorated but felt very homey at the same time. Very comfortable and pleasant.
The city was doing roadwork and the road was closed, so it was difficult getting there.
It was a good location, breakfast was provided and we had a lovely en suite bathroom.
WIFI didn't work in my room for some reason and it cuts off at 9pm which I didn't know- was very dissapointed. Couldn't find any staff to help me either.
Convenient for Hull city centre; quiet ground floor room at the rear of the house; convenient off street parking; good breakfast.
On arrival we had to ask for the heating to be switched on. When we returned at 9pm it had gone off again and we were a bit cold; barking dog was a bit irritating.
The bed was comfortable. The room was large and quiet. There were extra blankets available. It was useful to have a fridge.
It was very cold in the room and the heating came on only for a short time in the evening when we were not in! There was no soap and only one, very large, towel and one flannel for two people. The floor had rugs on laminate flooring.
Location and owners made you welcome
No extra way to heat room was cold during the night
Room was very well equipped with everything you could want. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
Wi fi didnt work in room.
lovely relaxed stay
no reading lamps
Good location with ample parking facilities. It is next to a bus stop so we could park and ride, We had the studio room on the top floor which had a balcony looking out on the large garden at the rear of the property. Everything we needed was there - big fluffy towels, toiletries and a bath with powerful shower plus tea and coffee making facilities. Full English breakfast was cooked to order and included in the price. Great value for money
Nothing to dislike.
The toilet is very clean.
The bed is uncomfortable and make noise everytime I made a move moment.
everything-location,friendly family who cannot do enough to make your visit great, amazing garden with tawny owls in it,good breakfast, v.short walking distance to pub for evening meals/takeaways,fridge etc in room.
Everything were really very good
Interent access could be a bit better
Large comfortable room. Off-street parking, Internet access and a full English breakfast all included in the price. Janet even offered to do my laundry! Friendly people and a good breakfast to start the day
Thought the Acorn guesthouse sign at the front could be a bit more prominent as it was a bit hard to find the driveway in heavy traffic.
Good facilities in room such as microwave, tea, coffee facility. DVD player.
A vegetarian breakfast was offered, which was appreciated. However, not happy with having to make own toast.
We gave a specific arrival time - between 4 and 5. Arrived at 4.10 - no answer when rang door bell. Went for a walk, returned 20 mins later - still no reply. Called house phone, no reply. Called mobile - Janet was in garden so couldn't hear the phone, but her daughter should have been at home. Obviously not! Was given code to get in. Did not meet Janet until next morning at breakfast, which we thought was a little rude as we had been mucked about. Had booked two rooms. We had been promised a king side bed with memory foam mattress and updated bathroom. Wrong on both counts. Bathroom was in desperate need of updating. Room at front of house and very noisy.
