Comfort Price per room very high for Staff couldn't speak English State of decoration No breakfast Was previously a care home!
Location was excellent and parking on site too
Decor in room poor- damp patches in room, mildew in ensuite. Ensuite door didnt shut unless slammed it, which during night wakes people up. Whole place looked shabby
>Rooms were quite spacious >Duvets were warm >En-suite was new and nice hot shower >They are trying to make it look/feel better - corridors has just been painted >Small tv in room with basic kettle/tea options
>Looked and read like an old peoples home (sign still up) >Very noisy throughout the night - did not feel safe as lots of nightime activities >Bedrooms were dated - lots of marks and scuffs on walls etc >Safety was not great - Electric cables were running of extension leads and the tv look like it was about to fall off the wall >The windows were wide open when we arrived and we could not close them - Very old and no locks >Said it was 1 mile from Portsmouth Harbour but actually 30 mins drive to ferry terminal
close to portsmouth and shops and in a quite spot so u can sleep
nothing i didn"t like
Bleak and unwelcoming. No food available on site. Website says that food is available nearby. Rubbish. There are shops nearby but very few places to eat and what there is, is poor. I got there late, eventually found a pub but it closed at 10!! All you get here is a very very basic room and a bed. For £70! Better to sleep in your car!
Location good for submarine museum and historic Portsmouth Dockyard attractions. A large room and guest house had free parking.
Shabby decor. It was all about collecting the money and not really very welcoming. Had to use the back door.
the bed was very comfortable location near to center helpful and friendly staff
i WAS HAPPY TO BE THERE
The bedroom size
The silk sheets
Location, room was nice and tidy. Staff was welcoming and helpfull.
Outside it was written care house (before this building was a care house). Didn't look so nice from outside, should be renovated. I don't know why, but staff was unlocking doors in the morning while we were still sleeping. They should provide signs with "please dont disturb".
Not enough tea bags
I liked that the rooms had a fan in the room to deal with the humid weather. I found the room clean and the beds very comfortable.
Close to town and ferry to Portsmouth. Didn't use the car
Was obviously old peoples home. Call bells outside doors not removed. In need of redesigning. No reception poor welcome Bedroom doors need changing However near to amenities and quiet will do well but needs refurbishments as mentioned above
room was very clean and bed comfortable. ideal for what we needed it for.
Location was handy for the 1 night that we stayed there
The Electrics looked suspect, extension cables & joined together in multiples, shower did not work Scalding Hot,(No one on duty t report it to! fire doors wedged open very narrow passages do not know how elderly/infirm would get out in an emergency, no one appeared to be on at night, I would not use it again.
Not in a good part of town, not easy to get to, parking on next street. The place was a former Care Home and it still looked like it. A rabbit warren of stairs and corridors. It was more of place used by migrant worker, definitely not a hotel or guest house.
Parking place Good access to town centre Good size bed
Old everything Dirty radiator and walls Man peeing just outside our window at 3 in the morning Water leak marks on the walls
very quiet location, hardly any traffic. No noise from other guests. close to shops restaurants and harbour. very helpful staff, comfortable super kingsize bed , very clean.
the room was very very hot, no air conditioning. room was refurbished but not to high standards. small bathroom but again, very clean. overall, good value for money.
The location was good and the one staff member we met was friendly.
The room was not clean, there were spilt drinks marks down the wall and the outside signage still said that it was a Care Home!! We also had to pay on arrival and there was no breakfast included - perhaps that was a merciful blessing!
It was near where we were visiting.
Although the young man 'running' the place did the best he could it appears he doesn't have much to work with.
The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was clean and spacious.
Very handy for the marina and shops and pubs and eating house
Needed a coat if paint
The tv didn't work..shower was hot..couldn't even stand in it...no staff around. Worse ever!!
Why are some showers so difficult to operate?More money(and water) is/was wasted by having to get the temperature right for the individual. Its get red hot or stone cold. The showers should be a straight hot or cold control. The television and its digital box were very difficult to operate. In this day and age it should be a free view television with just one remote control only. I was due to leave for an 08:15 ferry journey,I asked if their may be the option of some breakfast before I left, this was declined.
