the location is very accessible,5 min to the bus station by cab or 20m walking. Easy to found, and close to the best italian restaurant. there is not telephone in the room. |

I liked the place. It is 15-20 minutes walk from the railway station and very reasonable in terms of price and offer. Breakfast ok! |

the ideal location to the city centre in relation to the start of the marathon & ideally placed when the tram is finally finished for hopping on/offf to different venues wasn't a chair in the room to sit on. Brewing facilities were a bit sparce & not topped up for 2nd night & location of kettle to plug dangerous |

easy to find even with all the road works. Access at all times, Walking distance of centre. Breakfast china needed a good wash. No way of regulating the heat in my room, very hot. With only small window to open.Rooms only tidied every other day, and then the rubbish was not emptied. All very tired. |

The staff are friendly. The breakfast is really good. The hotel is within walking distance of the centre of Edinburgh and there is a good choice of restaurants and bars in the vicinity. |

Owing to problems at Acorn Lodge,we were redirected to 38 York Place (within the same group) which was excellent. The transfer of the booking was handled efficiently and the staff (single individual) was most helpful and attentive. As a city centre hotel nearby parking was difficult and roadworks outside meant no offloading at door. |

We were made to feel very welcome and the host was available to answer any questions that we had about whwere to eat etc. The crockery at breakfast time could have been cleaner. There was no aerial cable for the TV so it didnt work. The shower head was broken. |

Good location. Staff are eager to help and friendly. It's no frills. The bed had a cheap mattress, the furniture had seen better years, the state of repair was mediocre, poor in places. The smell of the staff smoking was not really masked by the air freshener. |
