Small guest house within 10 minutes walk of the shopping centre and seafront. Pauline couldn't do enough for us, we arrived early evening Friday and were immediately offered a pot of tea (no extra charge), after a long journey from the Midlands this was most welcoming. The room was clean and tidy, and breakfast was excellent. Really good value for money. Would definitely return and also recommend to others.

Warm welcome to this cosy guest house in a quiet back street, Small but comfy bed, warm room, delicious breakfast! Pleasant walk to beach and shops. Payment demanded as soon as I walked in, front door needs fixing as difficult to close. Minor details as I enjoyed my one night stay.

Me and my partner stayed here last night and a friend of mine also booked a single room, we were greeted by a lovely lady, nothing was too much trouble! She was very helpful and informative when we asked where was good to go into town etc. Our double room was very clean and tastefully decorated and so was my friends single room. Breakfast was excellent too and always a service with a smile. Can not fault this place at all! Outstanding value for money!

Friendly, efficient service. We were offered tea and a bun on arrival, which was duly brought to our room, even before we'd finished unpacking ! Room was comfortable, breakfast was good. Only there one night, but would definitley consider for any future visit. Free parking on site too, and no more that 10 mins tops from sea front.

The Acorn Lodge is a small hotel which is just what I like. The owners are friendly and the food was plentiful. The room I was in was small but just right for a single traveler and I had a lovely time whilst there.

Very comfortable, well-organized property with fantastic staff. Huge, fresh breakfast which keeps you going all day. The lady who runs this guest house makes lovely toys out of wool which are displayed there, local artists` works are also displayed there which makes this place local and personal.

“It must be 10 years since I last stayed at the Palace. I was very pleased to see that it was just as nice as I remembered it. The decor of all the public rooms has been kept looking fresh and modern, but the character of the hotel has been maintained. The reception area is warm, welcoming and luxurious. The staff are friendly and efficient. I saw 'high tea' being served to the youngest guests and they were being given as much care and attention as any adult in the restaurant. Breakfast was excellent, both in quality of food and service. Our room was good, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was a little tired but it was spotlessly clean with loads of hot water. The Palace is a very calm, relaxing place to stay. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept. Too much 'modernisation' would spoil this hotel and I think they have got the balance right.” Sue, Solihull |
