Set in the heart of the city centre, McLays Guest House is well located for visiting Glasgow’s many museums and art galleries and is just a few minutes’ walk from lively Sauchiehall Street and...

Clean, modern , affordable. New bathroom.
Great location - within walking distance of city centre and the university, and some great restaurants for a bite to eat. We were in Glasgow for the University Open day and the location was excellent. Staff very helpful and lovely breakfast
staff ,location close to park and use of parking permit
Location Staff Room
Nothing - all good
Great location, nice rooms, free wifi
Breakfast was cooked and served by one girl. Through no fault if hers, breakfast too 20 mins to arrive.
- location was great, within walking distance from city centre - we had a room on the upper floor and was quite with a park view. I must say that according to previous reviews I asked for such a room while making the reservation, and I got it - so thanks to staff for taking the requirements into account. - breakfast are served - buffet only for cold breakfast, juice and coffee. Nevertheless, cooked breakfast was tasty with variety of options, included fully british breakfast. However, needed to pay extra! - availability of making a coffee/tea in the room - free wifi
- poor bed - the bed looked rather like a sofa-bed instead of a proper bed and, more importantly, the mattress was really poor, spoiled and uncomfortable - the bed and floor was annoyingly squeaky - the size of TV was rather small and remote control did not work properly - same person is a receptionist as well as a person who makes breakfast for the guests. When more people came for breakfast at the same time, we needed to wait even as long as 30 minutes to get breakfast.
nice quiet area friendly staff
we had early start and had to wait on breakfast being cooked so was rushed but was good
Location to my meeting. GHDs in room so no need to carry.
Room was noisy from bar downstairs. Breakfast inedible. Power cut during shower.
The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. We also liked the bathroom especially the shower and the free Wi-Fi was a real bonus.
Nice location - walkable to centre but in generally quiet area near to Kelvingrove Park.
My room on ground floor facing street - noise from bar next door kept me awake
seemed like a very new building or very well kept. Convinient size single rooms and good value for money. Good location Thank you!
Dust on top of shelf Tv arrangement was'nt functional, could not view it from bed properly.
Super friendly and very helpful staff, cozy, updated, great location with easy access to the museum, university, sauchiehall street, great value, LOVED IT
Neil, our concierge was excellent and very friendly. Price (50 pounds) was great
No elevator (tough for my Mum) Rooms slightly small
Very spacious & comfortable room,
TV didn't seem to work, no breakfast option available
Very nice and clean hotel in good location and with friendly staff.
no drinking water in the room (just tap water which wasn't very good) and a bit loud from the pub next door.
Great location, Neil was ace, breakfast is superb, would definitely use it again if I went to Glasgow!
Tiny bath Very Heavy Door to go in and out of Bed was terrible: uncomfortable and noisy
The location of the hotel is excellent as it is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre. Parking vouchers are available from reception at a cheaper cost than the parking machines.
There was a hornets nest outside our window on the roof so we couldn't have our windows open which made the room very stuffy and difficult to get a good nights sleep. We asked at reception for a fan but were told they never had any spare. Even with the windows closed there was still a few wasps that manged to get into the room.
I know that the Games are on in Glasgow at the moment - but charging 3 times the regular price is - in my opinion - ridiculous profiteering from a room that you seriously couldn't swing a cat in...
This was a quick run to Glasgow for shopping. Staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. The car parking was great. The room was well appointed with plenty of tea/coffee facilities. The cooked to order breakfast set us up for the day.
Did not find anything not to our liking.
Location - close to Glasgow city centre in a quiet parkland/res area. Single room on the small side, but well equipped. Good breakfast
Lack of a warm welcome. Hotel wants payment authorisation before you even see room. I find this annoying when you have already supplied card details. Not a hotel as does not have the facilities of such.
The staff at this hotel is excellent! They were very helpful with all our needs. The hotel has easy access to the bus line which made it easy to get around Glasgow. The bathroom was spacious and beautiful. The free wifi was very helpful as visitors from abroad. For the price this hotel is an excellent value.
The hotel didn't have a lift which made getting our bags to the 3rd floor difficult. Our room shared a wall with the restaurant next door which made the room smell a little.
Great room with new furniture, comfortable beds and pillows, easy to park near the hotel.
The breakfast was so-so, but on overall it wasn't a problem considering that uk so-so breakfast is a really good breakfast in many other places;)
Needed a room on short notice for one night and this met my needs for a reasonable price. Restaurants nearby and not too far from train station.
Room was smallish, but adequate.
