At times, the WiFi struggled a bit and dropped out, but it was free so can't complain too much. Also, the water strength and temperature in the shower were rather poor in the evening, but after running the water for a good 5 minutes, this problem sorted itself out - in the morning the water was fine! The same product seemed to be used for both 'shampoo' and 'hand-soap', I would have preferred a different one for each.
Situated just off of a main road, outside the city centre and not too far from the Science Park, this is an excellent place to stay for business. The room was large, with a decent TV for relaxing before bed. The bed itself was huge and very comfortable with optional extra pillows available in the wardrobe. There are extra sheets and a thick duvet, so you'll be warm in winter, but I was just fine in the 22 oC heat and slept well. With the windows open, it was a quiet, cool, good nights sleep. The decor is quite dated, but as it was a one-night business stay, this didn't bother me at all. I perhaps would stay elsewhere for a week-long getaway. The en suite, although small, was adequately functional. In the morning, the shower was as hot and powerful as I wanted. There was a choice of meat, vegetarian or continental breakfast - mine was included in the room price, some were not. The meat breakfast was pretty standard, but you can't really go wrong with a full English to set you up for the day. The filter coffee was nothing special, but still tasty. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating at all times. All in all I had a very pleasant stay, and would absolutely stay there again if I was on business in Cambridge. Only a 10 minute taxi from the Science Park. Excellent value for money.
