Ideally situated near the River Cam, city centre, colleges and most business parks, this guest house provides comfortable accommodation and a homely atmosphere.

Cambridge is one of the most beautiful cities in Britain and is steeped in history and tradition. Acorn Guest House offers accommodation in the main house, as well as annexe accommodation, and is ideally situated for a visit to both the city and the surrounding area. Cambridge is a city best discovered on foot and guests find our location ideal for exploring the sights. Acorn Guest House is located within walking distance of the River Cam, the historic city centre and the famous colleges. If travelling on foot to the centre, the journey is a pleasant walk alongside the river and across the greens. There are a number of pubs alongside the river. You may see crews of rowers on the river and in the summer, you will see punting. For the less energetic, there are frequent buses from the bus stop located close by.

If cancelled up to 3 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.

If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and extra beds

All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.

All children under 2 years are charged GBP 5.00 per night and person for cots.

All older children or adults are charged GBP 20.00 per night and person for extra beds.

Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

Deposit

The total price of the reservation will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable.

Pets are not allowed.

Room information

We have tastefully decorated bedrooms, all of which are en suite. Our rooms are bright and airy and offer both modern and traditional furnishings. All are fully equipped with standard facilities.

Please note that the rooms may be located in main house, annexe or annexe house (hawthorn house).

Important information

A credit card is required as a guarantee and we will charge 100% of the booking in advance. If the booking is cancelled in compliance with the cancellation notice period (72 hours for 1 room up to 3 nights, 7 days for group or longer bookings), your credit card will be refunded with the full amount of the booking. If you do not give sufficient notice of your cancellation then your card will not be refunded.

We are a strictly non-smoking establishment.

Please note that we do not accept one night stays over the weekend from March to October and no cancellations are permitted once a booking has been made during graduations and the folk festival regardless of time and reason.

Credit card payments are subject to 5% surcharge. For special requirements, we require the last 3 digits on the back of your card.

We received a warm welcome, the breakfast was excellent and the room large, comfortable and clean. It cost us nothing to park and the local buses were frequent and convenient so we used our passes and not the car.

Very good breakfast. Helpful owner and staff.

Room very small for 3 persons especially toilet/shower. Only bearable
for short stay when out most of the time.

location and free wireless internet!!

The room I was allocated was in the attic with a sloping roof - there was very little useable floor space and no place to sit comfortably. Othr rooms on the main floor are probably quite good.

The breakfast was ok but the bedroom was very unsatisfactory. There was no louge available for guests.

The bedroom was in a mews - 1st floor - attic-type room. It was totally inadequate to accommodate 2 adults. It was cramped with a velux window in a sloped ceiling. It was impossible to stand upright at one side of the bed. The ensuite was also cramped with no window or ventilation.

It was convenient for Cambridge city centre. It was quiet.

Shower room was small, almost impossible. Breakfast room poorly designed so that the smell of breakfast invaded the guest rooms which was unpleasant.

Pleasant people

Mattress very old and worn, radiator in Rm 11 did not work - very very cold. Showers extremely bad (need de-scaling) and no bath as alternative. Too many people packing in.
