In the heart of Combe Martin, at the centre of some of North Devon's most spectacular coastal scenery, this small, friendly guest house is just 3 minutes walk from the bay and the beach.

Situated in a beautiful and fertile valley, or Combe, on the western edge of Exmoor National Park, the village of Combe Martin is located by the sea and is on the south-west coastal path. Acorns Guest House is within easy reach of the region’s wonderful sandy beaches, the wild countryside of Exmoor National Park and many other attractions.

Built in the late Victorian period, this charming licensed guest house offers its guests the re-assurance of having been inspected by the English Tourist Board, gaining a 4-star rating. All of the en suite rooms are comfortable and well appointed with colour TVs, radios, hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities. Most of the rooms have either coastal or country views. Free car parking is available for guests.

The guest house is great for long, relaxing holidays, weekends away, romantic short breaks, coastal and country walking holidays or cycling breaks. The guest house is also open during the winter.

There is a large private car park to the rear of the building, with ample free parking for guests. Bike storage facilities are also available.

The building is fully central heated.

Children are welcome and, while pets are not allowed, guide dogs are accepted.

Food & beverage

A comprehensive breakfast menu is available between 08:30 and 09:30.

The guest house takes the utmost pride in its full English breakfasts, which are made using locally sourced produce.

A varied 3-course evening meal is available by prior arrangement at an additional cost. Please inform the guest house at least one day in advance, if you would like to eat in, so that they can advise on the menu. Meals are served between 18:30 and 19:30.

Vegetarians can be accommodated and those with special dietary needs can contact the guest house in advance in order to inform them of their requirements, using the contact details supplied on the confirmation email.

There are 6 double rooms, one twin room and one family room. All of the rooms have been decorated and furnished to a high standard and are well equipped with all the comforts and facilities you need in a relaxing base.

Area information

The village of Combe Martin is surrounded by some of North Devon's most spectacular coastal scenery and there is plenty to see and do in the area.

Combe Martin Bay has rock pools on either side and a sandy beach at low tide. The Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park is a fun family attraction set in 30 acres of sub-tropical gardens with woodland walks, 250 species of animals and life-size dinosaur models. Slight further away, Exmoor Zoological Park has over 150 species of wildlife from all over the world, situated in 12 acres of gardens on the edge of Exmoor. Watermouth Castle is a family theme park with various attractions including Dungeon Labyrinths, Adventure Land and Merrygoland.

Dartington Crystal hosts permanent exhibitions, studio glassmaking, lampworking, engraving and lots more.

The region’s leisure facilities include Ilfracombe Swimming Pool, which has an indoor pool, a sauna and a solarium. There are golf courses nearby at Ilfracombe and Mortenhoe.

From Ilfracombe’s harbour, you can enjoy boat trips to Lundy Island and elsewhere. The Tarka Line is a railway line running from Barnstaple to Exeter following the beautiful valley.

Travel information

By Car (from the M5 motorway):
- Leave the M5 motorway at junction 27 and follow the A361 towards Barnstaple.
- After approximately 20 miles (32 km), you will reach a roundabout at the junction of the A361 and the A399.
- Turn right at the roundabout onto the A399, following the signs towards Combe Martin.
- Continue along this road for 15 miles (24 km), through the scenic Exmoor countryside, winding your way down to the village of Combe Martin.
- Drive right through the village, past the beach.
- The guest house is approximately 350 yards (320 metres) further on, on the left-hand side.

Parking:
The car park is situated to the rear of the guest house. Please follow the signs.
