The seafront Ellan Vannin Hotel overlooks Douglas Bay and Douglas Beach. The hotel is 1 minutes’ walk from the beach and within 5 minutes’ walk of the ferry terminal and bus station.
Score from 435 reviews Excellent
the welcome and care we received was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was freshly cooked and very nice. We would certainly stay here again
I stayed 15 days at this hotel with no hassel bedroom was very clean the owner made sure i had fresh towels daily and the bed made.iwould stay at this hotel anytime .
I really dont have anything negative value for money .
The owner, Eric, went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He lent us his satnav for the duration of our holiday, he telephoned on our behalf to enquire about opening times, and even offered to buy different food for our breakfast. The free wifi extended to our room, and was fast and reliable.
The electric shower was adequate, but not particularly powerful.
Went over for a wedding, they were very accommodating and welcoming. Can not find anything to fault this hotel
The manager was extremely helpful and went the extra mike to assist (very early breakfast and a lift to the ferry terminal) ... It's these little touches of service that make a difference. Highly recommended
Cheap and met our expectations which were limited
Very average breakfast, owner was serving guests in his outside coat. The decor and bedrooms extremely 'tired' . We were on a walking holiday and stayed one night - you would be extremely disappointed if you had to stay more than one night.
Staff could not do enough for you, they were very friendly and helpful, could not fault them.
Because we were in the attic. There was no Wi-Fi.
We just stayed for one night in this hotel in the Isle. Nonetheless, the couple were more than eager to help us in every aspect possible. For starters, we had some troubles finding the hotel (becasue of some mapping error) and the owner kindly came to pick us up. The breakfast is freshly cooked and served with menu options and everything, couldn't ask for more. The room we stayed in wasn't so big, specially the bathroom, like typical english tall houses. It was ok for the amount of nights we were there. The only not so positive would be the location, is still quite close to the center but its uphill a few blocks, its not even bad, but maybe for people in not so good shape would be worth mentioning.
Comfortable room, good breakfast, free WiFi. The location was a bonus as it is close by the Villa Marina.
Not suitable for anyone who has mobility issue. Lots of stairs, some rooms are located in the attic top floor. The walk to the Adelphi is on a "steep" hill, so if you don't like walking, beware.
Everything was excellent, the owners couldn't do enough for us. We had a lovely week on the Isle of Man and would stay here again.
Situated on a steep hill, but got to know which bus went to the top ,so not a problem.
Not clean. Mattress old and saggy
Room too small for comfort.
The family that run the Adelphi were very pleasant and good to talk to. pointed us to a couple of good places to eat on an evening.
THE COUPLE RUNNING THIS HOTEL WHERE FANTASTIC NOTHING WAS TO MUCH NOTROUBLE FOR THEM THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY POLITE HAD A LOVELY STAY AT THIS HOTEL AND WOULD RETURN THERE
Staff helpful and friendly. Good position
Our accommodation clutered, too much furniture was not really for 3 people. Ensuite badley designed and too small
Really nice people. Even picked us up from ferry! would recommend.
The location was convenient for most of the attractions. Eric the owner couldn't do enough to ensure we had everything we needed. He and his wife were both very helpful.
Although it was only a small hill, the hill up to the hotel was a bit tiring after a long day being a tourist. But nothing wrong with the Adelphi
The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable.
Breakfast could be a bit earlier
Nothing was to much trouble
Everything was outstanding and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.
