Very friendly and helpful staff. Small but well-equipped single room; spotless modern en-suite shower-room; comfortable bed; adjustable heating; openable window; good breakfast with plenty of choice. Hotel on quiet road away from main traffic, but within easy walking distance of city centre. I would suggest a towel rail in shower-room - there was nowhere to hang towels once they'd been used. |

Was a lovely room, enjoyed breakfast The curtains didn't close properly, let the light in - we stayed for 2 nights so they fixed it for the next day which was great... |

It was very cheap. The cooked breakfast was good. The room was clean, comfortable & had an ensuite bathroom which I had not expected. It was very close to the city centre & theatre but was quiet. It was very cold, the central heating did not seem to be on and I had to drag the heater provided accross the room to plug it in. My room was in the basement and I was woken by people walking on the floor above at 7am. Although it was a double room I'm not sure it would be big enough for 2 people to stay for any length of time. |

I cannot say enough about the location of this hotel. Right on the heart of the beautiful scottish capital, Ailsa Craig is located in a beautiful neighbourhood. The building itself is quite aged very well kept, as the rest of the houses on the same road. Breakfast was nice and the staff extremely nice and helpful (the scottish way, actually) The room was spacious, so it could have a bit more furniture to make it feel a bit more comfortable and homey. |

Location absolutely fabulous and the nearby on-street car parking was remarkably easy for the centre of Edinburgh. |

Quiet, clean and decent size room. Friendly staff. Not only this one, but most hotels of this category in Edinburgh I've stayed in seem to have old, hard, smelly blankets instead of duvets. |

The staff were pleasant, breakfast was good, the room was relatively quiet and room service was good. The ceiling in the lower half of the bathroom was very low and it was easy bang your head. |

The staff was very helpful. Although not stated here at booking.com, the breakfast was a full English breakfast. On weekend days the breakfast is available only after 8:30, and the breakfast times are not stated here at booking.com. On the other hand some yogurt, cereal, coffee and tea were available at 8:00. There was no fridge in the room. |
