The staff and location. We would stay again. Beautifully warm for a winter stay, love the memory foam toppers. The staff were brilliant. Thank you I don't think that it was was thirty pounds extra for our room and there is need for decorating which I thought would have been most important in a luxury room but having said that we would stay again as th staff were brilliant. The only other thing I would change is to have fruit salad to order not sat on the side and the yoghurts in. Bowl of ice. These are from other b and bs I have stayed in and feel that it would improve the aesthetic appeal of the breakfast room.

Very convenient location, a nice 5 minute stroll into the city centre, on a very quiet street. Our room wasn't very luxorious - it was pleasant enough and was clean, but there wasn't a lot of spare space and not much furniture either. The tv was an old 14" portable very high up on a stand and there was no remote for it. Shower cubicle was in need of attention

We liked the location, ambiance, facilities although slightly cramped, and the most was Heather, who managed the facility. She could not have done more for us on our short stay. The house was nicely restored and true representative of the period. Even though the stairs were tight we, at 65 and 70 managed quite well. If we remain as active and agile as we are we would stay there again if in York.

We have stayed here several times, it's a great location for the centre of York. Staff are very friendly, and there are no restrictions on coming and going. The breakfasts set you up for the day. Only complaint I would have was that the room was too hot during the night and it was difficult to sleep despite turning the radiator off.

It was very convenient for York city centre and was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. There was a rather bad smell in the ensuite bathroom - drains? It seemed to lessen slightly when whoever cleaned the room placed the plug in the wash hand basin sink.

Location and available parking opposite. Bed was very comfortable. Very quiet location. Hall and Stairways needed refurbishment. We were on the third floor and the last flight of steps is very difficult. We managed......just but it would be totally unsuitable for anyone who is not fit. This should be stated when booking.

Location, easy walking distance from York Minster and the centre of York and walking distance from York station. As a lone female traveller, it felt fine to be walking back at 9 -10 pm along a well lit main road. The check in was straightforward and the room was comfortable and clean with good en suite facilities. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent.

very friendly staff and happy to cater for gluten free. Tasty breakfast. I couldn't control the heating in my room - the radiator thermostat did not work properly and consequently the room was boiling hot.

Very good breakfast with good quality food and choice. Comfy beds and plenty of room in the bedroom.Bathroom could have done with a face lift but clean.( nothing like the pictures).A little over priced and parking a nightmare not as suggested in the description. Very quiet location and near all attractions and shops no need for transport once parked up. bathroom and parking issues
