The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was top notch. The room was very tired with worn carpet and chipped furniture. The bathroom had chipped tiles and was very cramped for the size of the room

Spa/Pool Evening Meal - parents came to join us for a meal one evening and we had a lovely evening. Breakfast Size of room - not really big enough for 4, comfy for 3 Bathroom could be a bit bigger No safe in room No wifi in room Bed very uncomfortable and hard Pillows very hard No blind/nets at windows and as room overlooked by rooms on other side of courtyard, you had to close curtains and put on lights to change for swimming etc. New extension is very poor/doesn't match the lovely architecture of the old building. Fan to heat restaurant was right next to our table and we couldn't hear ourselves think when it was switched on

I liked the warm welcome, the helpful happy staff, the location, the fine dining, and the leisure swimming pool and sauna. The bed was very comfortable and the room warm all night. It had a large television. There was a hostess tray with lovely shortbread. Altogether first class. Nothing

Everything! Room was superb as was the food. Staff were pleasant and corteous. Only very slight complaint would be that no-one told us that we should have taken our robes from the bedroom for our spa treatments. We thought they would be supplied locally.

The history and charm of our room in the old castle were excellent. Staff in the newer part was excellent/friendly. The bathroom was very cold. The towel bar was warm on the bottom, but cold in the middle and top. This indicates air is possibly trapped in the top and needs to be bled out by a maintenance engineer. This might help warm things up a bit.

Overall very good. The bar staff were not very good and assumed that everyone drank beer from a bottle and had to ask for a glass. Barmaid was definitely a dumb blonde!

Liesure centre good but changing areas should be regularly cleaned Meals were overpriced food preperation very poor good food badly cooked and badly presented. If there was an alternative nearby I would not eat in hotel. Bedrooms that are not recently refurbished are old and run down.

Airth Castle was very welcoming. Staff were very friendly. Location good for access to Grangemouth refinery, Falkirk etc. Breakfast was plentiful & of a high standard with cereals, fresh/tinned fruit, toast, full Scottish including Haggis, and lots of fresh coffee, although they should charge people for leaving a plate full of the buffet, as they pile their plates up and leave half uneaten. Gym and spa facilities were compact but well maintained and had fitness/weight room, pool, steam room, sauna & Jacuzzi. Arrived late so no time to use gym but aoened at 06:30, so I was able to use before breakfast. Very happy overall Although bathroom was very smart & clean with good shower, room could have done with a refurbishment. They looked a little tired and had dents in the walls from furniture movements. Furniture had the early nineties mahogany look and was a touch tatty.

We have stayed before and it was good to stay here again and re kindle memories. Service in the restaurant was as good as ever. Same old faces made it nice experience. Waited for 10 minutes to get served in the bar on arrival. It was Burns night and only two staff on bar, who ignored me while serving one other couple. The bar was half full of dirty glasses. Paid top price (£184) for a castle room only to find shower attachment would not stay on the wall!

Liked the atomosphere. The food in the dining area was excellent. Staff was very accomodating and the surroundings were very pleasant. More than I expected since some of the reviews that I read prior to leaving were not so good. I was not disappointed and neither was my family that I traveled with. Carrying the luggage up two flights of stairs in the castle. But that was to be expected since castles don't have elevators.
