Hamlyn Terrace Nsw
In Falkirk’s countryside, 14th-century Airth Castle Hotel enjoys a peaceful setting. Once owned by the family of Robert the Bruce, it has a luxury spa, an elegant restaurant and stylish rooms. The Castle's former stable block now houses modern guest rooms, some overlooking the courtyard. All rooms have a flat-screen satellite TV, free tea and coffee and ironing facilities. The award-winning spa features a pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and beauty treatments. The gym equipment includes touch-screen TVs and iPod docks. The Glasshouse Restaurant and Piano Bar serve local, seasonal ingredients beneath a pyramid of glass. The Castle’s Business Lounge offers a light menu and drinks. The Castle Hotel is a 30 minute drive from Edinburgh and a 45 minute car ride from Glasgow. Historic Stirling, with its Castle and the Wallace Monument, is a 20-minute drive. Hotel Rooms: 123

The facilities and staff in the spa were good. The reception staff were incredibly rude. They gave the impression that guests were inconveniencing them by checking in and checking out. There was a turd in the toilet, which would suggest that housekeeping weren't on the ball. The duvet was thin enough to resemble a sheet. The decor was tired and shabby throughout the hotel. When I reported the state of the bathroom to reception I didn't even get an apology, the receptionist could barely raise a shrug. It was the worst service I've ever had in a hotel.

I enjoyed the stay at Airth Castle, very well situated for a number of te main cities in Central Scotland. Good menu, very well laid out dining room, and bar area. The spa option was very tempting, at sensible prices, but we did not find the time to fit it in with our intinery. Maybe next time. We were given a room in the castle as opposed to the hotel, which meant walking up to the hotel for all meals. Ok most of the time but when it was raining, it meant taking the car the few hunderd yards. I woud have liked the option of having a room in the castle or the hotel. The castle room had all been modernised which took away from some the features that that room should have had. The bathroom was large, but although there was a heated towel rail in there, it was not on during our stay as it was supplied from the central heating. No mirror at the sink meant walking 2 metres to a wall mounted mirror when shaving. For me the room let it down compared to how it was described on the hotel website. The room was comfortable dont get me wrong, and also very peacefull. Having said all that, I will be back, but will insist on a room within the hotel next time.

Had a fantastic experience in a lovely location. The food in the restaurant was beautiful and highly recommended! We had a fantastic experience. However, the rooms were not as nice as we had hoped, considering that it is a four star hotel. These were more basic than luxurious.

The food and staff are very good. The hotel itself is not in the castle though there is a castle on the grounds. From the outside the hotel rooms area doesnt look great but it is very cosy inside.

The hotel staff were very accommodating. They changed our room when we did not like it without any fuss. We thought the hotel looked lovely from the outside but the rooms were very tired and shabby. We stay in a lot of hotels and would not rate this one as a four star it is much lower! More like a travel lodge!

Staff very welcoming & friendly. Bar / restaurant area very comfortable and food was amazing. The bar food is cheaper but stops serving at 6.30pm so it's then necessary to eat in the restaurant. 2 courses for £22.50 or 3 courses for £29.50. Quite pricey but of very good quality! Gym and spa area amazing; really good high tech machines in the gym and the spa is lovely and relaxing. The room (standard double) was large, but could have done with a bit of updating & a slightly better clean.

Stayed before and it brought back memories Some of the basics missing in the room, namely soap dish in shower, no tissues, other than that great!

Service was very good and the food was excellent. Good facilities. The only comment I would make on this is that the Walls in the rooms were rather thin, you could hear just about everything.

I really enjoyed the meals - both evening meal and breakfast. Didn't have time to use the facilities but they did look good. Stayed in room 23 in the castle. Felt that the bathroom certainly needed upgrading - large crack in the sink and tile grouting was very low standard. Full revamp required - considering the price for the room. No hooks in the bathroom for bath robes to hang whilst in shower/bath !!. Food was really good but we did not get eggs with our breakfast and on checking the menu afterwards I do believe we should have had scrambled egg included - feel a bit cheated with this.

Food and accommodation were very good. Dining room was a little on the cool side - if wanted to dress up for evening needed either a jacket or cardigan on. Pool facilities were excellent.

Asked for room overlooking courtyard, we were put in a dreadful room at the back of hotel. Rooms were dirty and the bath had tide Mark round it. Eventually got room overlooking courtyard but wasn't impressed. Mattress was hard and lumpy.the duvet was as thin as a sheet. We couldn't even get channel 3,4 and 5 on tv. The cleaners were running about cleaning till late afternoon. Even the lifts were needing a good Hoover. At the glasshouse bar they only had ready salted crisps and no nuts. We got room service a sandwich consisting of slice of bread and slice if meat, tiny bowl of horrible soup and tiny plate of chips for two people and it cost us 35 pound. Drinks expensive too. Definately dosent live up to it's reputation. Needless to say we won't be back.

The room was spacious and everything was nice and clean. There was everything we needed in the room. Breakfast was pretty good. Room was very cold when we arrived, but warmed up after an hour or so once we put radiators on. The hotel is in 2 parts, castle and resort. This wasnt made obvious on their website.

“Wonderful comfortable bed had a great sleep! Also the food was fabulous and at £10 for three courses it is one of the best bargains I have come across for a long time!
