Rooms need refreshing/recurb
Location,Comfort and friendly and attentive service.
everything about the castle is excellent ,quality, lush surroundings, customer care, facilities, breakfast, and the staff.
Tspa I look forward to the spa after a long drive, BUT this time there were so many children very noisy diving in the pool, running in and out of the sauna, splashing in the jaccuzi, just totally out of control. I think rules should be in place,Serenity Spa ought to mean just that.It was more like a public swimming baths.
Food was good. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Room was noisy and bed uncomfortable. Allowed dogs into the lounge where we were eating lunch. Generally the place is tired.
Service was speedy and staff at all levels were welcoming and friendly and very dog orientated. Grounds were good for dog walkers
hotel reception and lounge were good. location lovely. lights on trees at night a good touch.
I did not think that the hotel was of 4 star standard.the hotel room could have done with some work window didnt shut properly, woodwork shabby, arm of chair broken and decor needed freshened up. Also the changing room at spa needs updating.changing rooms had three very small private cubicles with shower curtains that had seen better days as did the decor.
Jacuzzi, breakfasts, happy & helpful staff. So easy to get to places around about - very central
The reception & lounge staff.
The rooms. Nothing like what they're marketed online. Reminiscent of an early 70s bed sit, not what I'd expected from the photos. I asked to be moved to another room (something I've never done before & was embarrassed to do so), the second room was just as bad. Tired furnishings, beds & bed linen a far cry from a 4 star rating, stained carpets & lampshades. Having telephoned reception again, the Duty Manager came to the room &, as the receptionist had earlier explained, informed me the hotel was under refurbishment & she herself didn't like the room! I was offered a room in the castle which would be "more in the 21st century" albeit small & on the top floor with no lift. I considered the move but was cringing at the thought of what was to come and possibly having to refuse yet another room. After consideration, I decided not to accept the 3rd room as I believe you should receive (in the first instance) the quality of room you booked - you shouldn't be put in the position of complaining! There should have been clearer notification the resort was under refurbishment & more accurate photos of the rooms you're likely to be accommodated in. I would never recommend this hotel. I would however say the staff did their best under the circumstances.
Room was bright and spacious. Food excellent
Noisey spa. Kids running amock. Also the relaxing area outside the bar was anything but. Kids running about while parents in the bar. Not the relaxing place they advertised. Complaint made to them
The room wascomfortable bathroom very nice breakfast was excellent
No wi-fi inthe castle in the village and surrounding area i could not find a decent eating place eg country pub or good restaurant as usual in hotels alcohol was a bit over priced
Vey friendly staff, food excellent .
Rooms were needing painted also door in spa area really grubby .
Nice Rooms. Excellent Food Excellent staff Spa and Gym is good
Part time wi fi : not in Castle . High bar prices . Cosy snug bar doesn't open in the castle for guests ,Poor to say the least. Changing area in Heath suite & lighting maintenance issues. Empty cans of coke , water cups & excess water in the changing area . Some lighting not working , pool LED light n/w.
Great service and good atmosphere. Room #9 in the Castle was modern, well appointed and comfortable.
No WiFi service in the room and no ghosts :)
The fantasy of sleeping in a castle. The room was great, the food fantastic.
We slept in room 23, magic, but the outside floodlights lit up the room we found it difficult to sleep.
Excellent quality food in restaurant
dead end view from window ( grass banking)
We are there for a family christening in the area so location was excellent for us. We travelled with my daughter and family and the hotel was very good for a young child. They particularly enjoyed the pool. The restaurant was so busy that we didn't have to worry about a young child making noise. The food was, also, very good.
For what we paid the bedroom was very tired looking and in need of some tlc. Chipped furniture and paintwork in bathroom. Very strange shower over the bath which I couldn't reach and sprayed water all in the wrong direction hence soaking the door and floor. The mattress seemed old and lumpy as did the pillows. They should maybe take heed of a certain hotel chains adverts and follow suit (you pay a lot less there as well).
liked the location and the staff. Staff was very helpful for our needs.
I have answered a previous survey and said that WIFi does not work and mobile phones hardly. Airth castle is therefore not a good place to stay if one is on business. Otherwise very good.
Decent location, but no view to speak of.
Our room in the hotel section/old stables was cramped and outdated; beds were stiff and small. Rooms in the "castle" may be better. Breakfast was not my cup of tea (TOO much cream in the eggs! ecch!) The "castle" isn't really much of one; there's no grounds for a walk to speak of; view is very plain.
Food and service, clean & comfortable
We stayed in the castle - lovely building with lots of character. Room was large and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent.
Lesiure Facilities were great Staff Friendly Setting excellant
Food was average, had better in other 4star hotels, room was small, double bed was to singles pushed together, Bathroom had no proper shower and ceiling to low to have a shower.
Staff were lovely
Didn't get a room in the actual castle
The grounds and rooms were very well maintained and a real pleasure. The restaurant offered a very good selection and was very relaxing to dine in.
The only complaint we had was that wifi wasn't available in the rooms. These days, that might actually be seen as a plus.
Food Was excellent
Inpolite staff, reception, problems with room entry cards, TV had to be repaired, in need of modernisation, Accomodation for conract workers so poor value at £109.
